Terrible quality.
Bought these for work. Im a delivery driver. About a month later they are falling apart and have holes in them. I thought Columbia was a good brand. Guess not.

Not the same quality as the original Redmonds
My original Redmonds lasted a full year and cost $30 less. This pair started to disintegrate at the 7 week mark. A small 1" tear of the outer leather at the sole appeared on Monday and by Friday it was the horror show pictured. I'm not hiking through the razor sharp rocks of Emyn Muil on my way to Mordor. No, I'm walking a scant 3 miles a day on the admittedly questionable but often harmless sidewalks of Baltimore. These were my commuting shoes, (at work I wear my heavy reliable Doc Marten steel toe boots) but now they are hardly worth being called bath slippers. My initial joy at the predominantly black color scheme has been well and thoroughly crushed by the bargain basement rat hides they clearly used to construct this shoe. The tear has gone so far towards the toe cap that my foot now runs the risk of slipping out the side, being exposed to the nefarious teeth of the Baltimore City Rats as they come to reclaim the skins of their kin.

DO NOT BUY THESE
I got these for a trip to Hawaii to be hiking through the wet and muddy forest after my second hike on the way down I noticed a rip PICTURED ABOVE, like really it’s my second day using these shoes and they rip like that, maybe if they wouldn’t outsource to China these would actually be better quailty, I LOVED THE SHOE was super excited even told my girl I was going to leave a 5 star until I looked down, I payed 53$ on Black Friday and now they are 100$ WOW Columbia what a rip off I DONT RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE unless you are just using them as like vans 😂 horrible shoe will be returning them all muddy to them also this is uncalled for I feel bad whoever payed 100$

Advertised as "wide" it's not!
This shoe was advertised as "wide", it's not!

Narrower, smaller and shorter than previous mid-hiker. (Pictures)
Before you read the review just look at the pictures for comparison. My old shoe 13Regular and the new shoe 14Wide. The old shoe is both wider and longer. These are going back today.I was looking forward to these being a great replacement for the previous Columbia Mid hikers that have worn out after about 2yrs use. Even though I ordered these one size larger and wide...they feel one size smaller and regular width like my old boots. My old boots are actually wider and they are regular width. If you are expecting these to be wide...they are not in the least bit. Also even though I am replacing an older model "mid" hiking boot, these are shorter with less ankle support. My ankle in the old pair was well protected and supported; with these my ankle sits right at the top edge of the shoe. Unfortunately there is not really another choice by Columbia. So I am now debating sending these back and cleaning up my old ones until a new model comes out. At a $100 I don't really want to compromise ankle support and fit.

Totally not waterproof....beware
I purchased these boots for snow shoveling and walking around my property in the rain because of the claim of "waterproof". I was also intending to use them for light trail walking in the woods.Pros...fit great, comfortable, very supportive, light weight, great traction, look good.Cons...NOT waterproof at all. I took my first rain walk with these after using them 4 or 5 times to do some light snow shoveling and my toes were all wet when I got home. I thought that somehow water must have leaked in somewhere...remember, they are basically brand new and "waterproof". I went on another light rain walk and the same thing happened...wet socks. I then realized that they are leaking at the point at which they bend when you take a step. One leak on the left and right side of each shoe. Terrible. I guess the "waterproofing" they use is probably a thin chinese membrane that can't take too many bends before getting a hole in it. Not like gore-tex or another similar material.I'll still use these for DRY hikes but the wet weather days are over for these. BTW, I am only 125 pounds and very easy on all my stuff. I definitely won't recommend Columbia footwear to anyone.

Very nice - but buy a size larger - and definitely NOT watherproof
These shoes feel great, but when I bought a size based on the sizing instructions and chart (which yielded my usual shoe size of 10, with some room to spare), they were much too tight in the toes. I have a wide foot, so I found the toe box too confining to be comfortable, even though the length of the shoe was okay. I traded them for a size larger (11) and these are comfortable and work for me. I will test if they are truly waterproof and will update my review if I find them lacking in that department (which is the main reason I bought them).2/7/2020 UPDATE: Having tested these boots in various conditions, I can confirm that they are most definitely NOT waterproof. Because they are advertised as such, and because I bought them primarily for this reason, I have downgraded my rating to one star. If you want lightweight, comfortable boots, they're fine; if you're looking for waterproof, go with Merrill.

My fifth or sixth pair
What can I say? They fit my foot (big but narrow) well (US14). So they probably run narrow if I like them (there is a Wide fit version). They are light and not so chunky (who needs to hit the brake, accelerator and clutch at the same time?) They are waterproof (except if the rain comes in the top, but you can't blame the shoe.Version 2 is the same fit as V1. Maybe slightly better made. I had one pair of brown V1s come unglued at the toe (in the desert in 90°F heat). Never a problem with the lighter tan ones. Mind you the brown ones are still wearable - bit of ShoeGoo and they soldier on.My one complaint is that I'd really like some reflective elements for when I'm on a bike or out in the dark. I suppose I can buy some reflective laces, but seems a slight oversight

Not waterproof at all!
Wore these boots around the house for a few days, then took them out on a two hour walk. After walking across some damp grass, the shoes became wet inside. There was no waterproofing at all. At the end of two hours, water was being squeezed out of the seam between the upper and the toe rand, causing bubbles and a squelching noise. Worse, after five days close by a radiator, they were still damp inside. At no time did any water come above the level of the toe rand, so this all came in through the uppers. These are nice enough boots - but don't buy them expecting them to keep your feet dry. I returned them as they were sold on the basis of being waterproof (and the boots themselves are marked 'waterproof' on the uppers!) so clearly not fit for intended purpose.

Not Waterproof..not even Damp proof...
Bought for general hiking use. First impressions were good.. comfortable, secure, good grip.. however downhill from here.. they turned out to be anything but waterproof. Not even damp proof. Wet grass kills them.. I'm talking soaking inside and days to dry out.. so disappointing how can Columbia state this boot is waterproof... Next sole wears down quickly. After 3 months of limited use on average terrain the soles had lost most of their grippy lugs and were smooth..All things considered they are not fit for purpose as advertised.. never again for me..

A boot of extremes - extremely comfortable, and extremely non-waterproof
A boot of extremes - extremely comfortable, and extremely non-waterproof. How they have the gall to describe them as waterproof I really don't know. They even have a little cardboard tag fixed to them when you get them out of the box which says "Breathable and guaranteed waterproof". They just aren't waterproof, though - even a walk through damp grass and your socks will be wet.Putting this matter to one side, they are however extremely comfortable and hug your feet fantastically well. As a result i will not be pursuing the guarantee to get my money back - I just won't be wearing them in anything other than totally dry weather. One other comment is that although the soles are great on any form of surface which is dry or slightly rough, they are very slippery on anything approaching smooth wet surfaces. So once again a reason to be careful about using them in damp or wet conditions.Don't let me stop you getting them, though - they have their strengths. Just be sure that being waterproof isn't at all important to you.

Not waterproof at all
I had these shoes for a little more than 6 months, and being honest, I avoided dipping them in water unless unavoidable. Well, winter passed and come walks on the beach with the kids, I got them waterproof shoes, and I thought mine were too. Guess what? I was the one with the wet feet at the crash of the first wave that reached the mesh. I am not talking immersed them, just the splash on top of the mesh was enough to get my feet complete wet. What a dissapointment. Other than that, the shoes were great with fit and all around comfort. If waterproof is the reason you bought these, completely AVOID THEM. Otherwise, consider them not waterproof.

Great boot at a great price.
Pretty good boots! I needed some new ones for walking and holidays with the dog. Something light, comfortable and water proof.I can’t fault these at all. I’ve had them a week and the weather has been pretty wet so I’ve been able to test them out and they’ve held up well. They’re comfortable, have plenty of padding, my feet are dry, and they were available for much less than the official website.
