Table Tennis Tips: 2011-2013

This book focuses on "soft skills" of table tennis. It does not teach you the basics of various shots/serves/receives or how to fine tune your shots/serves/receives. It focuses on what makes a specific shot good (e.g., what are the characteristics of a good and effective push?), playing tactics and strategy, training, mental preparation, and numerous other good practices that is often disregarded by players without dedicated coaching and dedicated/limited practice regiment. The writing style of the book (which I think is a compilation of blogs) is engaging and easy to understand and implement.Even having played table tennis on and off for years now, I am glad that I read this book cos' I learned a lot from it.A must read for anyone serious about playing table tennis as a competitive sport.

Ever since he published "Table Tennis Tactics for Thinkers", Larry's books are at he top of my check list.This one is culled from his weekly posts on his blog.Yes the tips are online, but it I like having this material in my hand in one nice bundle.Topics include tips on service, return of service, rallying tactics, etc, covering all of the aspects of playing this sport.I certainly have benefited from reading the advice.Thank you Larry!FdT

If you want to be a better table tennis player, this is a MUST READ book. Apply these tips to your game in the club or your tournament, then you know how it works. It just liked a great coach with years experience, sudderly unlock all the secret of table tennis and teach you how to win your game. Thanks Million, Mr Hodges!

Gift for senior who plays table tennis at his residence. He said he got some useful advice from scanning the tips.

Larry Hodges is an excellent teacher and coach. Read everything you can by him. Even though it might not be new info it can be a good review of what you know.

Well written on the finer points of table tennis. As the author states it is a collection of articles so there is some redundancy

I did not find the book very helpful. Main reason: it contains no illustrations or photographs which would demonstrate the author's points.

Excellent book, full of good information. Larry Hodges puts things over in a clear, concise and easily understood way. One of the best books on table tennis around.

Full of ideas and tips on improving your game, from the basics to the advanced. It has helped me a lot.My only criticism would be that a few more illustrations would help.
