Omnitech 14 sheet Cross-cut Shredder

Make sure you only shred one page at a time and NEVER put it in reverse! (Don't Buy)
I used to have a diamond-cut shredder that was pretty good, made by the same company. I used it without problems for at least three years before I put something slightly too thick through it and ruined it. This item which I am reviewing, which I bought to replace it, is BAD. Firstly, it is the LOUDEST shredder I have ever heard, short of those that chip tree limbs.A half a bag of shredding into our relationship, and put in a thin junk-mail envelope. A letter, essentially. It jammed it. (It was not 14 pages thick, be assured) I took it apart because I still needed to shred. More than just the page I had thought was jamming it was balled up in the teeth. One of the biggest needs in home shredding is getting rid of credit cards, credit card offers, or other similar financial junk mail. That should be an obvious use for this product and it is ridiculous that this machine could not handle a simple, "Call us!" B.S. loan offer on a single page in an envelope. Obviously, sturdy envelopes with multiple glossy pages can't be fed through, but seriously? Why would you design something that shreds nothing but single pages? No one needs that. The way the cover sits on the top portion (which houses the shredder itself) it basically ensures that the product will jam. Once you hit reverse, everything gets trapped between the cover and the steel teeth that cut. I'm 90% sure that I cannot use it again and it's permanently broken. But I did clear the jam and it will reverse freely. Maybe I can fix it, but why am I having to fix it at all?

Worked well but overheated if used for more than 15 minutes. Would work well for everyday needs

Shreds OK, but you have to be careful to keep the number of sheets pretty limited. My previous shredder had a bigger catching item. I will look for that on the next one as this one fills up awfully quickly.

So far it seems like good quality
Decent product... Well made. So far it seems like good quality. Only bad thing is sometimes shredding teeth get clogged by paper and needs to be cleaned. Won't work unless its cleaned.
