ClosetMaid 31220 Double Hang Closet Rod, Nickel

I consider this a great space improver. Such a simple idea but works so well to double the amount of hanging space in my closet. It is adjustable in both length and width so it fits well in most any closet. I am hanging quite a few clothes outlet from it and the rod holds well without sagging or bending. I was considering an entire closet redo to increase my storage. This saved me so much time and money so I don't feel the need to do that.

I'm a clothing vendor selling my own hand dyed apparel. I wanted the option of having hanging clothing bars inside my canopy booth ( I have a 10x10), but it's hard to see where a bar would hang from and be level. Two matching points are going to put the bar right in the traffic flow. That's why I choose these Closet Maid bars. With the adjustable straps on each side I will be able to adjust each end so the bar is level and I will be able to hang them pretty much where I want to. Each strap does have a plastic clip, and the end caps come off if you want to thread curtain rings with clips on them which is what I did for socks and hats. I like that I will be able to reduce the length of the bar to the smallest size for travel, and I should be able to fit each one INSIDE the bag that has those clothing items. I use those big blue bags from Ikea. Overall they seem well made and sturdy. We will see how this goes and I will edit my review after I have used them for a few shows. Edit : I'm a few shows in with these bars and I'm in love. They make set up and take down super easy with the hats and socks because I can leave them pre staged on the bars and just collapse the size and tuck the whole thing into a bag. I've started putting one bar way up high by wrapping the strap in a Y pattern around itself. It takes a little time to do it this way but I need to save the space after trying several configurations. I might try to modify the straps a bit so I can have higher hanging options. Keeping them adjustable is important because I need to be able to level the bars for each spot I set up or the end caps could pop off. I've only had that happen once or twice and it was my fault since the bars were not level enough.Back again and we'll into year 2 with these. I ended up making custom straps that will hold two bars at a pre set distance. The top one I use for the accessories like hats and stocks. The bottom bar I use for apparel on hangers. The Y formation weaving of the longer straps worked but it was time consuming.

This rod was very easy to hang in our closet and easy to adjust. I can even adjust it with clothes hanging on it. Very sturdy and provides the extra hanging space I needed in our small closet

This was a great alternative to having to remove the one existing clothes rod, raise it, and install another below it. This hanging rod may only work for those with clothing that doesn't hang down too long, otherwise, if installing below an existing rod, clothes may drag on the floor, but for shorter items, or children's clothing, it's perfect and saved a lot of time and expense doing something more permanent.

I moved from a house where I had 3 closets and now have one closet. I had another one, which broke, and I was able to fix. This one is nice and usable and serves the purpose!

Pretty simple - I needed another row in the closet, so I bought one of these to try. Works like a charm, well made, easy to use. I am ordering another one.

Really happy with this product. I needed an extra bar in my closet and this has helped a lot. It’s adjustable in length and width, very easy to use. Just be careful not to overload. Would definitely buy again. Thank you.

It’s nice but not long enough. Great for kids clothes but not / long enough really for adults clothing

This thing is awesome! My kids closet was overflowing, but I couldn't attach anything to the walls to make another rod or shelves as im a tenant not the home owner. This was the perfect solution for an overcrowded closet. It instantly doubled the hanging space with no need for screwing anything into the wall. Perfect!I also want to ad, that the dimensions in the listing are correct. There are other reviews complaining about the max length of the straps not being long enough, however if you look at that reviews photos, they have them set at the shortest length not the longest lol. It's simply a sliding buckle to adjust, it's really easy to do. Works great.

Great addition to the wardrobe. I have my trousers at the bottom of the wardrobe and jackets on top. Works a treat!

This is a handy and well made product. But the rail dimensions are wrong. The rail consists of two poles, one inside the other which lock into place. Because of the locking system, the minimum length is 70cm and the maximum length is 100cm. If you only use one pole (and pull the end cap off the second pole to put on the pole you are using), it is then just under 55cm. I needed it to fit inside a 55cm cupboard so this is fine for me
