Although popular culture depicts images of Englishmen and New Yorkers using umbrellas as a walking "device", they're not really meant for support. Gave 5 stars because it looks like a nice swagger stick, and, I had to select something in order to submit this comment.

Poor quality. Even the replacement item was poor quality. Very disappointing.

So I know that this is not necessarily a cane designed to be used as a cane (more as a hidden weapon in plain sight), but there is a glaring issue.The tip of the cane is a rounded stainless steel. It is not bulbous either, being the tip. So unless you can sink it into the surface like dirt or something it slides rather easily.I'll probably be looking for a small rubber cane foot I can attach to the bottom of this, as it is my current favorite umbrella and when I used it on my thicker carpeted floor it was able to handle my weight easily, no bending or anything, and I'm quite a hefty fellow.Regardless, I do like this product quite a bit.
