Great little scale
I am an amateur jeweler and hobby candlemaker, so this scale comes in handy for everything from weighing silver to measuring out fragrance oil. Yes, it’s tiny (about half the size of my iPhone) because it’s meant to weigh tiny things. It’s easy to tare and to switch among modes for ounces, Troy ounces, grams, and pennyweights. The scale is powered by two AAA batteries (included, but make sure to remove the little plastic tab underneath to get it to turn on). It’s weird that so many reviews are focused on calibration. The scale comes calibrated; that’s only something you have to do if it’s not accurate out of the box. I have a similar small jeweler‘s scale that is well-worn, and they’re within 0.2 grams of each other. That’s accurate enough for my purposes, so I won’t be stacking any nickels.

Easy to use scale
Easy to use scale. I originally got this thinking it was bigger, but it is very tiny and compact.Easy to carry around and not the most accurate - but still works. You can see from my pictures that it is smaller than my mouse.Measuring the mouse - Steelseries claimed it to be 59g and the scale shows 67.8g. Off by quite a lot! So either steelseries claims are wrong or the scale is.As a good measure I put my z flip on it. and Samsung claims it being 187g and the scale showed me 188.8(no case or screen protector added to the phone). Here the discrepancy is less, so I tried a few other items with same results ~1-2 grams off.Which then led me to measure baking liquids - vanilla extract in oz and sure enough - the one I got is about ~1-2 grams off(converted from oz measurements) Not a big deal as I now what to offset my measurements by.

acurate mini scale
This is a small micro scale, approximately the size of a deck of cards. it matches weight measurements from another scale I own right out of the box. If you're using this for business or science, you'll want to calibrate it to assure precision, but it's fine for everyday usage. Overall, I'm satisfied with this tiny scale since it feels substantial and is well-built.

Great Mini Scale if You Have a 500g Calibration Weight
I'm using this scale to measure items my large kitchen scale can't do accurately, such as salt and yeast, which it's perfect for.Out of the box, the scale was about 2 grams off. However, attempting to calibrate it with nickels was an exercise in futility. All nickles must be off the scale till the screen blinks CALC; you then have to load all 100 nickles ( I organized them in 4 piles of 25) within about 3 seconds. If you go too slow, it calculates a partial group; try to load any earlier in the process, and you get a continuing blinding 500g followed by an error message. My solution was to place the piles of nickles in a piece of the thinnest bag I could find (one of the grocery store vegetable bags) to put them on the scale all at once when required. Yes, it took multiple tries because my stacks fell over. Yes, my scale is off by the weight of the piece of bag. However, it's much closer than when the scale arrived and fine for cooking measurements.

Scale can ve used for measuring in kitchen
I purchase a scale not for weighing jewelry but for measuring baking items in the kitchen. It came in handy especially when trying to measure in grams.

Good for accurate measurements of smaller quantity kitchen ingredients
BACKGROUND:There is no such thing as a single scale that will work for EVERYTHING you might need to weigh, even if you just limit it to things in the kitchen. For some things, weights to the nearest gram are accurate enough and for others, the nearest ounce. Other thing might be acceptable weighed to the nearest pound or even kilogram.Sometimes though, you need to measure ingredients in recipes where you need a bit more accuracy. For example, +/- 1 gram of salt can really make the difference when recipe calls for only 1/4 tsp of salt. A tsp of regular table salt weighs about 7 grams, so 1/4 tsp will weigh 1.75 grams. With a scale that has only 1 gram resolution, that means that you could be putting anywhere from 1.5 grams to 2.5 grams in the item (assuming that the scale is rounding). This is enough of a difference to affect the taste of whatever you are cooking. For these times, having a scale that has 0.1 grams of resolution is helpful.IMPRESSIONS:The resolution is acceptable for small quantities of cooking ingredients, but would not be of enough of a resolution for measuring things like medicines or gunpowder when reloading ammo. For reloading ammo, you need to be able to achieve at least 0.1 *grains*, not *grams*. For medicines, you might need to be able to measure in milligrams.TESTING:A dime is supposed to weigh 2.268g and on this scale, it measures 2.3g. Given that it claims "600g x 0.1g" readability, I guess it meets that.CONCLUSION:As a supplement to your existing kitchen scale, it is acceptable. You still need a kitchen scale that can weight things to the nearest gram with a max weight of a couple of kilograms though. As such, I would have to say that this deserves a solid 3-star (i.e. "average") rating. It is perfectly serviceable and does what it claims. I will continue to use this in my kitchen when I need to measure things that are too light for my normal scale and which need a bit more precision.STAR RATING SCALE:1 -- Poor product; Waste of money at ANY price; Blatant lies in the original listing.2 -- Below average product; Something about it is a bit lacking; It could be conflicted specifications or errors in the original listing or that it was arrived with damage that was unlikely to have occurred during shipping and should have been caught in either the manufacturer's or seller's quality control.3 -- Average product; Meets expectations, perfectly serviceable, but does not do anything that sets it apart from similar products; Does not have some features that makes me say, "Wow, that's a neat feature".4 -- Above average product; Something about it sets it a bit above similar products on the market.5 -- Excellent product (or perhaps customer service); There is NO room for improvement whatsoever; NOTHING is perfect, so this rating *should* be EXTREMELY difficult to achieve.Ordered:2024-02-27Received:2024-03-01Reviewed:2024-03-05AmazonID:B00HS5MP6M
