I've got a pair of KLX's (250 & 650). I wanted to keep them as original as possible...until one of them was nearly stolen and had a load of damage done, so now I am slowly rebuilding it. I've treated & painted the exhaust and this shield just helps to finish off the look. Being stainless steel, it cleans & polishes easily and looks smart against my matt black exhaust can. Fitting took around a minute, I used a pair of larger stainless steel jubilee clips and that is it, it's that simple. I doubt that these will do much regarding heat shielding as they fit very close to the exhaust pipe/can, not enough air gap...the mounting bracket needs to be offset to do this. I really like it and even though it doesn't function much as a shield, it smartens up the bike and doesn't cost a lot. I rate this 4 stars.

Stand off distance too small for adequate heat protection

Better quality than I was expecting - the steel is thick and very stiff so should last well and should dissipate the heat properly.The shield is finished in a bright silver / chrome-type finish and looks smart.Two jubilee clips are included for attaching the shield. It would have been nice if they had the same shiny finish so they matched.good item but for the best look I'd get some shiny clips to match
