OPINELParallele Stainless Steel Chef's Knife

A lovely, light chef knife with a good edge that resharpens well. I used it daily to cook at a summer camp. It needed to be honed daily, and with heavy use the tip bent a wee bit and had to be sharpened out. The wood could use another layer of oil or polyurethane if you'll need to dip it in bleach water 2-3 times a day. Good value, but won't last forever. I like the belly better than the Victrinox for slicing, I love the ecology of the wooden handle, but I worry for the handle's life span as compared to plastic.

This is one of the best knives we ever had in the kitchen. It is even nice to look at. Got turned on to Parallele by my son who has been swearing by their pocket knives. Fabulous company with fabulous products.

These opinel knives are the best value for the money that I've found in years. I only wish I'd discovered them sooner. The quality is just outstanding. It's entirely too uncommon to find a company that could probably charge more but doesn't.

Really lightweight, but well balanced chef's knife. My only complaint is that is incredibly dull out of the box and needs an immediate sharpening.

I love Opinel knives. they keep their edge better than others I have and the simple birch handle is very attractive. this is the perfect size for many cutting jobs requiring more than a paring knife.

Nicely weighted and balanced, for me. Wasn't all that sharp out of the box but took a nice edge once I touched it up on my Spyderco sharpener. Great value for the money.

What a great chef's knife! Sharp right out of the box and feels really good in the hand. Simple and elegant.

Wish they had it in my beloved carbon steel!! This is a great general kitchen knife that is balanced and handles well.

Serves its purpose, handle could be better as it is thick and not ergonomically designed. Tempted to sand it down to fit my hand better. Overall the quality of the blade is mediocre, hones well but dulls fairly quickly.

Works well and sharp enough to bone a chicken.I would have liked a sheath as the tip is particularly sharp and potentially a threat.

This knife is perfect for me. It’s sharp, a great shape and of excellent weight and balance. I’m delighted with it.
