Amazon Basics High Speed Steel Drill Bit Set - 21-Piece

These aren’t a “steal”—they don’t have the durability of sets three times this price—but if you need a set to fill in some missing sizes (especially unusual ones) these really can’t be beat. The case is solid enough plastic and the bits all come sharp and well-machined. The inside of the box is clearly labeled with sizes which really helps to quickly find the right bit. If you’re a professional, these might not be the right pick, but for hobbyist and even prosumer purposes, these are pretty damn hard to beat.

When I became a homeowner I bought this set to help round out my toolkit. So far, I’ve been using these for a few months with a variety of materials, and I’ve found that they work best when used with softer materials like wood or drywall. I attempted to use these for masonry and it was too much and the bit I was using snapped in half so I definitely wouldn’t recommend them for masonry. Overall, besides the bit that snapped, I haven’t had any issues with these. I’ve used them with both a cordless drill and a hammer drill and the bits have worked great with both tools. I also like that they come contained in their own box, which makes them easy to grab when I need them.

These bits work great. No problem going through metal. Comes with a nice case. Great price for the set.

Hey, nice for an inexpensive set. Drilled some 1" brass and the hole was nice and clean from the pilot hole all the way to 3/8". The bits didn't heat up until I really pushed them in the lathe. I'm looking forward to trying them on aluminum and steel. I'll edit and add video later.

For the price, the bits are what they are. My issue is the case doesn’t hold the bits in place so once you unpack them and remove the clear shell that held them in place for shipping, they fall out of place. They might as well have thrown them into a hollow box and not bothered with the useless slots

I haven’t had this long so I can’t speak to the durability or the sturdiness just yet but they seem to be just as good as the dewalt brand I was going to buy that was twice as expensive.

I bought these bits to drill out different size old screws and bolts so I could extract them. The bits worked well and I have also used them to drill some holes in wood, which they do very well. I don't know how they will hold up, but I am pleased with their performance up to this point, and the price was certainly right.

Many reasonably priced twist drill bits are garbage. Not these. I drilled several hundred holes in mild steel with one bit. It was as sharp afterward as when it first came out of the box. Good work, Amazon.
