Primordial Tarot

I bought this deck while looking into Ancestral Veneration. I felt like it would give me really well rooted feeling about my very long passed ancestors, and all the way up to the newly passed. It did JUST THAT! I honestly cannot stop looking at the artwork and flipping through the cards with beautiful glossy, (but not sticky - at all!) cards. I feel such a connection with this deck. I have over 100 decks and I have been keeping this one close for much longer than any other ones. I feel like with this deck, you don't need to think about the modern interpretations of the suits or the courts. They take on a life of their own. Intuitive readings are great with this. Also, if you did want to get more meat off the bone, you can read the descriptions to the cards - which are wonderfully written, but not totally RWS, but it does share some qualities. It's actually very refreshing take!! I feel like I fall into another realm when looking at these cards. Like a meditative state that I never have before. You may not think this deck will be right for you, and maybe your right, but I feel l like eventually, everyone can get something out of the amazing deck - whether it is right now when you buy it, or wait longer. But either way, it deserves to be considered as a deck in your collection. It is so unique that it really blew me away. So, if you are on the edge, I think you should take the leap and buy it, it may be the best deck you ever own! (And ESPECIALLY if you are working with ANCESTORS - that is a given - this SHOULD be on anyone's ancestor altar, in my opinion. I know everyone is different, but give this deck a chance.The box is to two piece slide up box. Not a drawer box where it come out the bottom, it is split roughly in the middle and the top part comes off, then you see the deck and the book inside. The Cardstock is just lovely. I'm not usually into glossy decks at this point, but it did not bother me ONE BIT. Because they glide so well on each other. They are a pleasure to work with. Also, the guidebook is filled with unique information and different takes on each card. I am really enjoying this deck. I had the original, Tarot of the Ancients, 15 years ago, but it was destroyed by someone who didn't like the reading. I've since been looking for a new copy, but they're over $200. Then a friend informed me this was available under a new name: Primordial Tarot. I couldn't be happier. I found my deck, it's in a REALLY nice box, and the cards are so crisp! A lot of reviews I've seen on a variety of sites refer to the cards as ugly. That's an opinion I can't agree with. They're gorgeous!

My first reading was mind-blowing with this beautiful tarot Deck! Sergio Toppi never disappoints! BTW I wouldn't recommend this deck for beginners!

Traditional tarot cards have never spoken to me but THESE.... are so potent on a very primal level. Just looking deeply at each is a visceral experience of the memories from bones and cells. Looking forward to doing spreads and asking questions before pulling/recognizing the card(s) as guidance. Extraordinary deck of images.

I am a tarot collector, amd this is by far the ugliest deck in my possession. It is very unique and sometimes difficult to understand which card is which, though the seamless design is sharp. It's the imagery! Ooh, how terrible! Like the titans from Attack on Titan, if you are familiar with that series.

Not for the faint of heart~

This obviously isn't a beginner deck. It's got lovely artwork and personally I enjoy working with it for art and writing inspiration, and maybe some personal readings when I feel like it. The booklet isn't particularly easily organised, and I often find myself ignoring it altogether. I love these as a collector's item but I have to say they take a lot of getting used to if you want to use them for tarot readings.

This deck is a wow! one. Evocative images with a raw energy... not suited for everyday queries but rather for accessing deep, buried layers.The cards, while presenting a Major and Minor Arcana, have different titles and very different interpretations according to the booklet. Reading it using standard RWS or Marseille interpretations won't work here. Gotta use that intuition...The cards are thinnish but very nice stock, smooth and easy to shuffle. The box is nice and sturdy, not fancy, I love its practicability.When I first opened the booklet I got a bit of a scare as the text was in Italian (thought I'd misread the details for the Lo Scarabeo deck I bought) but turns out the booklet is multilingual - English, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian. No German though. Consequently, the interpretations given are shortish and the printing tiny. But the booklet is of nice quality, stitched not glued.All in all I love this deck, and if there's one thing I don't quite like it's the fact that all women figures have these round perky unrealistic breasts! I would have rather had some droopy, saggy, real life ones among them too, but then, the artist is male as are the designers. Sigh. Actually, I could have done without any full frontal (female but no male) nudes....The text, btw, is by Barbara Moore, who rather cranks out card decks, but she's done a good job.Nevertheless, I rate it five stars, a clear recommendation!

Una baraja extraordinaria. Sus impactantes ilustraciones reflejan vívidamente la conexión natural que existe entre el humano y la naturaleza, una conexión etérea que se expresa a través del instinto más remoto y esencial. Si te gustan los desafíos, ir más allá de la mente y de los sentidos ordinarios, entonces te recomiendo 100% este tarot.

Bei diesem Tarot ist das beigefügte Buch für mich wichtiger als die Karten geworden. Eine wunderbare Reise wird beschrieben, tiefe Einsichten der etwas anderen Art. Obwohl die Beschreibung kurz ist, ist sie dafür auch nicht übergriffig.Will man das Buch nicht einbeziehen (wobei einem m.E. etwas entgeht) und intuitiv legen, sollte man wissen, dass die Symbolik nicht traditionell ist, also vielleicht nicht ganz einfach zu deuten. Im Buch steht, man sollte sich nicht zu sehr an die typische Tarot-Symbolik, die allgemein bekannt ist, anlehnen. Dies ist aber bis auf wenige Karten m.E. durchaus möglich.Ich empfinde die Karten nicht als dunkel oder brutal oder schockierend, das ist jedoch wohl Ansichtssache.Möchte man sich als Anfänger dem Tarot auf traditionelle Weise annähern, ist dieses Deck vielleicht weniger geeignet, für etwas Fortgeschrittene ist es dafür jedoch Augenöffnend in so mancher Weise und kann einen womöglich sogar weit voranbringen (wenn man das Buch mit einbezieht). Für intuitive Leger definitiv geeignet, falls man eine Verbindung zu dem Deck fühlt.Das Buch ist mehrsprachig, u.a. englisch, deutsch ist nicht dabei. Das sollte jedoch niemanden abschrecken, es gibt tolle Übersetzungs-Apps, der Text ist nicht lang, das ist schnell gemacht.Einen Stern Abzug, da ich die Deutung im Buch in manchen wenigen Karten auf den Bildern überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen konnte.

Este tarot se publicó originalmente hace treinta años y se ha reeditado ahora, en una caja y cartas de máxima calidad.Hace más de diez años compré una versión reducida de sólo 32 cartas (Oráculo Orígenes), con una palabra clave de su significado inscrito en cada carta. Al principio no me atraían mucho las imágenes, pero con los años empecé a valorar su utilidad. Ahora con la baraja completa me encanta su belleza.Visualmente es llamativa por sus tonalidades de color para cada palo (azul, copas; amarillo, oros; verde, varas; y rojo, espadas).Pero lo más importante es el manual de instrucciones, con descripciones que combinan psicología y antropología, dándole una utilidad práctica asombrosa para las cuestiones sobre la vida. La pega es que sólo está en inglés, excepto las palabras clave, que están traducidas a seis idiomas, incluido el español.
