Replace hot tub pump. Self installed

Pretty easy to install. Been in a week and have used the hot tub 4 times. Runs much quieter then the old one. So far, so good.

Which it came with rubber feet, those were a chore to find. Fit in nice and has done well. Installation smooth but not easy peesy.

Update: 6/29/2020: I did not receive any communication but a new pump/motor showed up at my door. I can only assume the seller sent a replacement. I hooked up the replacement and it works like a charm. I appreciate the exact replacement as it was easy to install directly into the plumbing. I'm upgrading my rating from 1-star to 4-star. I would give 5-star for the second unit and seller but the lack of communication and the failed first unit looses a star.So disappointing. Brand new and tripped the GFI instantly. Figured it couldn't be the brand new motor so I replaced the GFI breaker. It tripped the new one instantly ($100 wasted). I then wired a three prong plug and plugged it into two completely separate GFI circuits. It tripped both of those instantly also. Three different GFI's on three separate circuits. I tried it without the ground wire connected and it ran fine. Clearly a bad motor. Too bad because otherwise it seems like a nice unit. I tried to return through Amazon but because of Covid it took me a couple months to install and the 30 day return policy has expired. So now I'm out $400 and looking for another pump/motor.

First of all, I'd just like to thank....me. Recently bought a home where the previous owners neglected their hot tub and even offered to haul it out to the dump at no charge to us. We said just leave it. Under further inspection there was quite a bit of leakage and cracks throughout the plumbing system. But honestly, fairly easy to repair with some cheap pvc, a slice valve among other odd fittings. Once I got it to hold water the next step was firing it up. No bueno. Code said heat sensor....so a $20 part and a 3 day wait from amazon and we tried it again. Pump clicked but would not fire up. So the last attempt before I threw the whole works away was replacing the pump. Got this one in the mail a few days later and after watching a pretty detailed video on how to wire it up. Simple actually...no need to call a professional. And once I had it bolted back in it was just a matter of firing it up and I'll be damned if it didn't fire right up! $230ish very well spent. I sit in the damn thing every night. Runs like a champ. Excellent purchase. Easy to install. Glad we didn't give up on what was supposedly a trash tub.

I did receive the XP2 pump I ordered, and it was quick, and a good price, however:Box looked like it had been opened previously, the pump was not securely packed- it was floating around in it's packing, loose in the box. The wet end of the pump was broken and unusable. The motor body was dented. The motor would not turn when powered up- i suspect the dented body shorted to the stator.I've requested a replacement and will update this review once received, but at this point, mostly unimpressed with In The Swim.

Tried replacing several parts in old motor, but did not work. Ordered this motor, which arrived just 2 days later! Motor fit perfectly in the hot tub and started right up. We are happy hot tubbers! Very satisfied. Hope to never have to replace again(1st motor lasted 9 years with being used year-round); however, would highly recommend this vendor and motor.

I had replaced a failed pump seven years ago with one of these- apparently they last about 7 years. The bearings started making an awful noise a couple weeks ago, so I decided to order another. There are cheaper options, but I decided to stick with this pump, being satisfied with a 7-year life. It was easy to install and I get the feeling it's well-made.

Absolutely outstanding experience, buying this from this particular vendor save me about $250, great condition, lightning fast shipping, will 10 out of 10 use their services again.

As described, matched the existing pump as so far as horsepower and frame rate. Things that are a bit different are the ground location, size of capacitor and the unit was a bit longer.Hope this one last longer than last one. (6years)
