This is absolutely the same cable as what valve it send you.
Recently my wife's cat ( not my cat) decided out of nowhere to chew on the most expensive cable I own - my valve index cable. I still don't understand it. I have cables and tech gear everywhere in my home. This cat (not mine) really liked it for some reason.I ended up contacting valve customer support, explained the dire situation, sent them pictures of the damaged cable, as well as the cat wearing a little plaid shirt. I asked the rep if they wanted a cat in the office.... Fortunately, Valve support was nice enough to send me a replacement cable for free. Unfortunately, they declined my cat offer... On top of that, Valve support informed me that they didn't have the cables in stock, and that I'd have to wait at least a month for the replacement cable.Because I was initially prepared to pay for a replacement anyway, I bought this cable on Amazon. I can safely say that this cable IS EXACTLY THE SAME CABLE I GOT WITH MY VALVE INDEX. And, it is exactly the same as the replacement cable that Valve eventually got to me. Don't listen to reviews saying this IS a genuine OEM cable or whatever. I know I'm crazy, but I'm not stupid. Same weight, length, circumference, springyness, etc... Same cable.Although expensive, I would give it more than 5 stars because of how it saved me from going VR-less for over a month.

Good replace ment cable.
So the cable is about the same size as the original. Plugs right up to the headset. The cable seems like it would be just as resilient as the original, if not a little more so. I have a lot of rf interference in my apartment and this cable doesn't look, sound, or behave any different from the original. Good cable. It's been in use for a couple of months now. No complaints.

Display was DoA
Spent hours upon hours troubleshooting only to come to the conclusion the cable was DoA. Either the USB or the displayport adapter, I can't say which. Regardless, it refused to send a signal for the display function of my Index. As such I've had no choice but to contact Valve and wait for an official replacement.

Good in a Pinch
I bought this because my cat chewed through my trident cable. This was the quickest way to get up and running while I waited on Valve support to send me a new one. I just replaced the trident cable and everything worked like new. It looked like I was still getting 144Hz, so I can't complain.I was expecting this to be a low quality knockoff, but it feels well made. I would highly recommend sleeving all of the Index cables in bite proof tubing if you have animals. Using TurnSignal on Steam can also help you keep you from twisting your cable in room scale games. The cables are hard to come by and it sucks to have to wait. I probably won't ever use the long cable section, but I will update if I encounter any issues.

Fits like original
My cat chewed through my original cable. Valve is willing to replace it for free but they are out of stock on replacements right now so I bought this cable in the meantime. This cable feels and fits exactly like the original cable down to the velcro cable wrap and works perfectly. If no one told me this was a 3rd party cable I would not have been able to tell.

PC Can't read your headset? Replace the original cable with this one and you're good to go.
Yes, it's expensive after already spending probably $900+ on the Valve Index.Yes, hard to drop that money in hopes this fixes the problem.Yes, this fixes the problem. If your PC is not reading your headset but your controller + Lighthouses work just fine, replace the original cable with this one and it's most likely read. After I purchased this I was back in business, so far so good right now.I'll update when/if it breaks again. This might be one of those cables you have to replace every now and then.. bummer.

No issues
I had problems with my Valve Index tether twisting while I was in VR and eventually it had issues and needed to be replaced, I have purchased 3 of these from Amazon and haven't had any issues with any of them.I would recommend getting TurnSignal for your VR System it is free on Steam, it is an app that will help you avoid having your tether twist up and kink, since I have been using it I have yet to have any kinks in my tether and should save me money buying replacement tethers.
