ZaapTV HD409N 1080p IPTV for Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Greek and African Channels & Movies

I owned the very first model (209) for good few years until it finally gave-up, the interface of the new model is very different from the 209 model, it will need some learning time. There are many missing useful features that are not present anymore, what affected me the most was the recently viewed channels, and the new youtube app; It is very crippled as compared to the older one, it does not allow you to login to your account as it did before. The channels list include much more from different countries, Germany, UK, Philippines, Bengal, etc. And at the same time some were missing for unknown reasons, if you used the jailbreak app they are present. The new software seems to be android based, and it happens to hang more frequently than ever before, especially when you plug-in/out USB storage devices and frequently switching between different functions; the new box is missing the on/off switch, you are forced to unplug the power cord to reset the device when it happens (you adopt quickly to what actually causes the software to hang and subconsciously steer away from it, which makes life more tolerable!). The remote control is improved, standard size and better buttons placement, it would have been a good idea to add a universal remote option to turn on/off your TV along with the set-top box. The recording option is a very good feature, you can watch the files later on your laptop with the appropriate software. What bothered me the most was that the new remote codes are not compatible with the 209 ones. I had custom remote codes for Slingbox Solo and it worked perfectly, so far I failed to find custom remote codes that work for 409n model.One last note, I called customer support when my 209 model started to fail and they offered reduced price if I bought over the phone, at that time they offered it for $320 with free shipping, it sold everywhere else for $349.My general experience, if you are satisfied with the older model performance, do not need the new channels, the built-in wifi option, or the recording feature, do not upgrade.

I have been using the HD409N for aabout 3 weeks and I am not impressed at all. I will do my best to describe the issues more than just my opinion.Pros:First time setup was easy, all needed hardware included.Unit will scan and find 100's of channels based on your location.Not difficult for anyone to use basic remote functions.Cons:Seems to save Favorite channels but you'll never find where and how to retrieve them.Gets pretty cumbersome to get to your favorite channel when you click the remote it often starts from the beginning of the list.Channels are in no spesific orderGets hectic and boring after a while looking for a program to watch.With 12 Mbps it still waits for a few seconds before displaying the picture when you change channels.Many channels freeze in the middle of a program or a show and have to move channel up and go back to continue.Picture quality is not impressive. Although it supports 1080 you'll never come near that and even then the picture is not crisp clear.I am going back to paid programming that is professional and consistent, I don't have a lot of time to waste looking for something to watch.

I'll change my review when I get product support. I received the HD409N this week but it came with NO INSTRUCTIONS. So I visited the website and there I found a scanned pdf of broken minimalistic English. Seriously? It's not even a master pdf, but a crooked scanned image of an old hard copy. Is this some kind of joke? LOLEdit: I finally received my device and we are mostly pleased with its performance. The remote control is a little quirky - if you press the BACK button or Exit button, you might end up rebooting the device if you are in the wrong window. Otherwise, we enjoy the HD509 very much and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to watch Arabic TV and movies. I still haven't figured out how to record though.

a very poor quality item. frequent buffering despite ultra fast internet connection. in addition, most channels do not load, and many more channels are missing, unlike to what is advertised. not worth the money.despite having obtained an RMA and sent the item back to Wholesale HQ, their reps claim that i cannot return it without obtaining an RMA. when i mentioned to them that i had one and that the number was on the shipped box, they stated that they are not sure where that box was. i am glad i sent the box with a tracking # (which is actually showing that they have received the item). Even after they acknowledged that they received the item, i am yet to receive the refund (3 weeks and counting)i agree with the reviewer that suggested that their customer service might be worse than the item itself. Beware buying anything from this company. I believe amazon should re-consider working with them.

Good channels but needs a lot of work to make it a decent receiver! Takes ages to change channels, gets stuck frequently and no logical way to search for channels. Most plus 7 channels are offline all the time. Yet, I'll keep it cuz I like the channels it provide

I READ THE REVIEWS AND HESITATED OFR A LONG TIME BUT FRIENDS HAD IT AND LOVED IT SO I TOOK THE PLUNG AND GOT IT.MY FAMILY AND I ARE REALLY ENJOYING IT , EASY TO SET UP JUST BE Patient the remote lags in time but easy to usethe channels are great and you can tape shows using a flash drive or to a sd card using a flash sd card reader .the re are so many channels and yes sometimes they are out but overall its great not just Arabic channels theres Spanish French greek Asian german etc etc great buy so far
