🌟 Breathe Better, Live Better!
The Austin Air A200A1 HealthMate Junior Air Purifier is engineered for smaller spaces, featuring a true medical-grade HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particles larger than 0.3 microns. Its advanced 4-stage filtration system effectively removes dust, pet dander, pollen, and harmful gases, while the substantial activated carbon and zeolite filtration tackle odors and chemicals. With three adjustable fan speeds and a 360-degree air intake, this purifier not only enhances air quality but also promotes better sleep and overall health.

Love it
I have had the Austin Air Healthmate Junior a little over 2 years along with 3 smaller air purifiers of another brand. They all work well. Home air quality feels better, smells better and can breath better with them. I mainly use the Austin Air Healthmate Junior in the living appx 230 sq ft. Because it's fairly small, light & easy to carry I move it between 2 living rooms (appx 230 sq ft each) and the basement (appx 100 sq ft). Originally purchased to relieve allergies but because of covid, now I wish I would've spent a couple hundred more on the Austin Air Healthmate Plus to feel safer.

The motor is weak - I have four air purifiers - This one is a huge let down
***UPDATE - I am moving this unit from two stars to one star. It has been in use for six months and is already making clunking noise. This description of 'clunking' is coming from a seventy nine year old women who's hearing is no longer at its peak. I am frankly angry at this product. The motor must be exceptionally cheap, I should have spent more on the products described below or slightly less for a blueair, honeywell anything but this cheap cheap product.I read reviews on the motor dieing on this unit after year 2-5. I figured it was exaggerated and bought this unit for my grandmother. The air hardly flows through this unit and the motor is noticeably weaker after three months. I only like well sealed well made air purifiers that incorporate thick carbon filters and large HEPPA filters.Recommendation: Since you are shopping for a high end unit - spend the extra $200 dollars and get a Airpura or an AllerAir (Airpura is an offshoot of AllerAir and the new CEO is very passionate about making a "higher quality unit than Allerair")I own both units - AllerAir - had for seven years - love it motor is maybe a little less powerful but not to a noticeable degree. I have done two internal cleanings to get some dust out and the dust was minimal. Basically this unit is amazing and is one of the best buys I have ever decided upon.Airpura - I got the whole house unit for my parents - I am very happy with the unit so far - and had some people in the industry admit that their build quality is better. Since this unit is in the attic - I have not checked as to the durability of the unit. With that said since their allergies are much less and have stayed such - I would assume the unit is still working really well - plus after talking to the owner of this company for a few hours in total, I am confident that this company is playing for keeps. I like to see that -

Stylish and works great
I got the Austin Air Healthmate Junior air purifier when I moved into my new house. The previous owner was a smoker. Although I'd replaced the carpets, painted the walls, and cleaned the ducts, I still needed something to help cut down the residual smoke smell. After extensive research, I chose the Healthmate Junior. It did the job. It's nice and quiet on the low setting. On the high setting it's a bit noisier, but I just set it in a corner and it's fine. (Not right up against the wall though, because you have to leave a few inches of space around it for it to work right.) I left it running for over a year. The smoke smell is gone from the house now. Even my mother, with her super-sensitive nose, can't smell anything when she comes to visit.I did buy a new filter after about nine or ten months. The air coming out of the Healthmake Junior started to smell a bit acrid. I called Austin Air and asked about it, because I thought the filter should last longer. They said it depends on the quality of your air. That makes sense. They gave me a discount on the new filter because it had been such a short time.I'm quite pleased with it. It looks nice, it's relatively light, it's simple to use, it's quiet, and it works.

Impressed so far
So far, so good. Only had it a few days, but seems to be noticeable improvement in my allergies in the house. I've been running several cheaper brands which have turned out to be less than completely reliable. A couple got so noisy we had to trash them. Maybe the continuous rated motor will make a difference. If this unit is as reliable and as low maintenance as the blurbs indicate, then I'll be a happy camper. As for noise - it is very quiet on low, acceptable on medium and somewhat loud, but surprisingly not too objectionable on the high speed setting as long as you aren't sitting too near.I'm impressed enough already have ordered an model 400 for the great room and will move this one to the bedroom.

Has Cleared My House of Smoke Quickly
In the SF Bay Area we are affected by the tragic fires - our air quality has become horrendous, it's become apocalyptic, and the smoke comes into our house. I found this model after seeing a positive note on Wirecutter, and am so glad that I purchased. I've been rotating the Jr through all the rooms of our house on the hour, and our air feels incredibly clear now, after just 12 hours of running, but I actually noticed a difference immediately. I like it so much I just bought a 'Used-Like New' deal on the Jr Plus model (from another site), so now I'll have one for each floor of our house, and can compare the Plus with regular Jr. The Plus is supposed to be better for smoke, but the plain Jr is working well for smoke as well.

This does what is says
Purchased mine 2 years ago. A few months ago I bought a 'Purple Air' air monitor to put outside our home. I recently brought it in to clean it and decided to test the Austin by putting it in the same room and running them both overnight. The results were dramatic. As you can see from the photo, at around midnight when I turn on the Austin, the PM 2.5 levels dropped down to 0 and stayed there until the next morning when I turned off the air cleaner and opened the window. This thing really does the job. Would highly recommend.

It works and it's quiet
I"ve had this unit for a few months now and it is very helpful now that we have clouds of tree pollen hanging in the air. I have allergies and asthma so this unit gives me one room for respite from pollen, dust, etc. My sinuses clear up rapidly when I go into my room. I keep the unit in my bedroom/home office and it is quiet enough to host video calls while the unit is on low. I turn it to the medium setting at night as I enjoy the white noise effect.

Great for tackling smoke odor
Due to mobility issues my wife recently started smoking in a room within our house. I did my best to contain the smell, smoking only happened in one room with a closed door and fan blowing out an open window, but the smell slowly crept throughout the house within a few weeks.Looked up a few options, what attracted me to the Austin Air HealthMate Jr was the amount of activated carbon in the filter and the minimal maintenance, because I know I will forget about cleaning a filter every few weeks. The air filter has been in the room where she smokes for a few weeks now, and it has eliminated the smoke I was smelling through the house. The room where she smokes smells better then it did, however, I still smell smoke as soon as I open the door, but the important thing is, the house doesn’t smell like smoke. So far it has been great.
