Baxton Studio Sunna Modern Cube Shelving Unit, Dark Brown

Honestly, I don't know why people are having such a hard time putting this thing together. I've never reviewed on Amazon before (though I buy quite frequently), but felt I HAD to review this product as I feel it is getting unfairly rated by other reviewers. I am a 5'3" average-build 25 year-old female living alone, and it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to assemble (I timed it). I found the instructions straight-forward as can be. EACH PIECE IS MARKED WITH A RED STAMP ON ONE OF ITS UNFINISHED SIDES (forgot to take a picture of them), so you can easily recognize which piece is A, B, C, etc. Also, I bought a rubber mallet and a power drill just to make my life easier, and I'd suggest you do too if you want to shave 45 minutes to an hour off the job. The only part that was a tiny bit troublesome was attaching the final bottom and top pieces because, as is always the case with assembling furniture, you have to line up a bunch of pieces just right--this is one of those cases where my rubber mallet came in super handy. After all is said and done, I absolutely LOVE this bookshelf; it is lightweight, beautiful to look at, and does its job (shelving books and such). For ~$100, this is a downright steal. I wish it had a ~little~ more height to it, but that's life and nothing's perfect :)

It's a nice shelving unit but as everyone else mentioned the directions are TERRIBLE. And like you, when I read other people write that I thought to myself, "Maybe those people just weren't patient enough or all that good at following directions."WRONG.The directions are confusing and some of the pieces are horribly labeled. It's nice once it's all put together, but you better be prepared to spend 2-3 hours assembling this thing if you're doing it alone.Also, the legs made it wobble so I ended up taking them off. Don't even bother with those - just trash them and enjoy how flush it sits atop the floor without the legs.

Arrived damaged. The top shelf had a giant dent in it, revealing what looks to be very cheap, hallow material.Ita very heavy so we set this up anyways. It would have probably been alright if the dent was hidden on a bottom part of the shelf but instead it shows blatantly on the top and feels like it night collapse in if we put too much stuff on it.Also the legs are very cheap feeling and plastic. Looks like metal in the picture but it's actually plastic. Few of the legs actually arrived cracked.Overall I am disappointed in the quality of this shelf. Probably should have just gone to Ikea. But I have already set it up, it is very heavy so it's not going anywhere anytime soon.Just a warning to anyone buying this. The other reviews that said it arrived damaged or dented, it could definitely happen to you. It happened to me.Once you receive that massive heavy box that won't even fit in my car, what can I Do? Felt like i had no choice but to accept a damaged product.

The media could not be loaded.  When I first saw the instructions had no words I was thinking... ohh great this will be lots of fun.... but then it ended up being very easy! I am a dainty 27 year old woman and was able to do it easily alone in about 2 hours... now I did have to have my body builder neighbor carry the package up to my apartment because it was HEAVY.. so be prepared for that. Once it was built it felt very sturdy which isn't always the case for build from a box furniture. Very pleased with it! And my cat loved jumping in the boxes while it was on the ground hehe. (Also, don't mind my very sad liquor selection at the moment 😂 Hahah)

First of all when I got home it was on my porch. It weighed like 200lbs and was in a huge box. I am a 120lb woman in my 50’s. I had to wrestle it in my myself. Almost impossible to do. Luckily I’m pretty strong. Then when I finally got around to unboxing it today. One of the inside boards that you would think would have been protected was crushed in. I’m hoping I can hide that part. Then I find I’m missing parts #6 & 7. Which have four pieces each. Here’s hoping Lowe’s has them if they end up being important. I’ve found that the hassle of returning heavy items just isn’t worth it.

I ended up buying two of these because I wanted to turn them into an entertainment center to hold my 55" TV. I wanted something lower profile against the wall because we miscalculated how big our couch was.Turned out a lot better than I expected. I hope to get two more and build a desk with them too.If you buy this, and you're putting it on carpet - get some wall brackets too. They're low profile and can fall pretty easily. I don't have any kids; but I do like beer, so it's kind of like having kids.I just got some L brackets and attached them to the stud. No muss no fuss. They're like $4 on here (amazon).

As this is the second set of shelves from Baxton Studio I purchased, my opinion is the same these are great products for the price, this shelving unit is a wonderful addition to my living room as the house is older and the walls are comprised of sheet rock, which makes it near impossible to hang any pictures or memorabilia on. Finding this shelving unit, it practically takes up an entire (blank) wall and affords me a lot of options in decorating I did not have before, assembly was do-able with two people, as all the panels have to be lined up prior to anchoring with the provided hardware, I would have liked wheels on this as well, but that was not an option, I did opt, however, to not use the provided plastic feet as this may have been more difficult to move that remaining flat on the wooden floors.

Product Came Damaged- No damage noted on the box! Otherwise it seems like a good shelving unit, easy to assemble!
