Purchased two (kitchen for gas stove & game room for gas fireplace). Set-up easy & working as described.

All you have to do is plug it in and it sets itself up. Looks clean and not clunk like most other detectors. I replaced my dryer and when the connection was unhooked, the detector picked up the residue gas from the line. It's siren is loud enough to hear it down in basement. I would give it 5 stars if it was smart home enabled so I could get an as alert on my phone if it went off and I wasn't home.

We purchased a propane gas woodstove for our kitchen and decided it would probably be a safe idea to install a gas detector. After reading several reviews I was intrigued by one called the GasKnight. it was attractively designed and I liked the fact that it plugged directly into an outlet or could be used with an extension cord. When it arrived I quickly read the instructions and set up the detector; unfortunately it did not seem to be operating as expected. A card in the box said “Happy” on one side and “Unhappy” on the back saying if “Unhappy” call or email Jim N.; “We’ll make it right“. 12 hours after I sent Jim an email stating I was unhappy I received a reply from Jim asking for a little more information as to the problem saying “regardless I can definitely give you a replacement or refund your order“. I answered and told Jim that frankly I was amazed at the very exceptionally high level of quick customer service and told him that it gave me great comfort that the GasKnight detector must be a very good product. I told him I wanted to take a few days and try a few different locations and see if I could get it straightened out. He answered right back and said he didn’t want me wasting any of my time and that he would send me a new unit free of any charges. A few days later it arrived I went through the set up steps and everything is working perfectly.Note: during the set up period you are instructed to tap the alarm unit logo, listen to the warning message and alarm for 5 seconds, tap again for second warning, wait 5 seconds and tap for third level warning. The third alarm siren will stop after a few seconds and the red lights will continue to flash for several more seconds. They will stop and you will hear the voice repeat the words “warming up” every 5 seconds or so for another minute or two. At the completion of the set up cycle the alarm and flashing red lights come on one more time for a quick repeat of the first level warning. Ii stops after one warning statement and the unit settles into its one blue flash every 5 seconds letting you know you are installed.Doing business with a company represented by such a responsive customer focused representative as Jim was service “which exceeded expectations“ a superior goal for a company’s service level. I am very pleased to give a five star rating to GasKnight knowing that through my experience that individuals like Jim make a corporate statement “unhappy we’ll make it right“ a very believable experience!.

I bought this a few months ago when I had a minor leak at the gas meter outside, I have an antique stove that came with the house and it's always made me nervous so I bought this and plugged it in 5ft away in the kitchen just for good measure. Yesterday I had a plumber run a new gas line to the new kitchen upstairs so he turned the gas off. After finished and left about 20 mins later I went to the downstairs kitchen and could smell gas. I thought maybe it was residual at first. This wasn't going off so I thought it must not be anything other than that. I do have a gas sniffer so for safety got that and checked all the new connections. Nothing. 10 mins later I was in the kitchen and bent down and about got knocked over from the smell. Immediately had a headache and got dizzy. I opened windows, turned the furnace in the next room off and vacated the house and called the gas company. My contractor lives 5 mins away so he came over and turned the gas off at the meter (something I now know how to do). Gas guy searched the house and sure enough my antique stove has 3 pilot lights no one knew to relight and it was just pumping gas into the kitchen. It was high amounts. This little meter 5 ft away never went off. My stick sniffer on the counter 5 ft away did but not the dedicated alarm. It'll be thrown away.

Easy to use. Simple as possible. I bought another for a second home.

Seems to detect gas leaks well.Adjustable sensitivity meter and alarm increases in intensity dependant on gas levels. Glad I bought a U.SA. made device which seems very good quality and reasonable price. Batteries included a bonus. Simple to use.

When it turns on, most of time the alarm will goes off forever no matter where you are until you turn it off. The alarm does not reset itself within one minute or a few minutes as the instruction manual states, and often goes off without a reason, that is at the time I am not defecting anything. Even I turned the sensitivity dial to it very bottom at minimum level, the alarm continued flashing and sounding every where by giving faulty alarm.I bought it 2 years ago and put it aside for future use. Now I have no way to ask teturn or refund. Waste of money!
