I passed the CHPN!
It was a great review. It helped me figure out where I needed additional study. It was worth the money. I passed the exam, and that was a challenge!

Mistakes and inaccurate information
This is not the best book. It seems it was put together without careful editing - for example the wrong letter (abcd) was assigned to the right answer in several of the answers (got the answer right - explanation confirms this - but wrong letter noted on answer key) also, some basic facts are not correct based on current practice - for example correct treatment for epistaxis is NOT to pack the nostrils…you can even google this to confirm this (I was an ER nurse for many years and we advised AGAINST this practice) blow out clots and pinch the nose to put direct pressure to the bleeding vessel which will stop bleeding after 10-15 min. Also, I would challenge that bowel care and comfort for pts in hospice is NOT high fiber and 1-2 liters of fluid daily and activity (seriously ?)….that would be fine for people NOT at end of life (fiber with less than 32 oz fluid a day can cause sticky clay like soft impactions that are very difficult to resolve) studies show titration of bowel stimulants is best - and can be used until the oral route is lost.Overall just a bit sloppy for the high price. I think 30.00 max for this given the lack of editing and care would be a better fit. Disappointed.

Do not use to study!
Does not follow questions on the CHPN exam, I studied this for weeks and maybe only a handful of items on the exam were covered in this book.

Inconsistent answers
Although there is some good review information, I discovered several questions with rationale that contradict each other, as well as nursing 101 errors. (If someone is moaning when repositioned, they aren’t comatose). I’ve emailed the publisher with my concerns but there must be better review books available.
