I used to own the original Garlic Zoom but I lost it. I replaced it with a 'cheap copy' which worked but was a bit stiffer than the original and ultimately the cog wheel snapped rendering it useless.Although the original design worked it was quite fiddly and the old single cog wheel design sometimes made it lose traction on damp surfaces. This new version is greatly improved as follows:1. The lid(s) open much wider and make it easier to add the garlic cloves2. The wheels are larger and both have cogs to drive the blades - works much better with less effort3. Much easier to clean with no fiddly corners for chopped garlic to get stuck inOne thing that I didn't realise first time I used it was that the wheel and blade mechanism slides out from the main case which really improves getting all the chopped garlic out and rinsing it out to clean it. I've included a photo showing the simplicity of it with the blade mechanism removed.You have to make sure the blades are vertical to remove the mechanism though. It does tell you this in the instructions but I didn't read them and in the product video it very briefly states this in the last millisecond!If you already have, and use, the original Garlic Zoom get one of these. You won't be disappointed. If you've never had a Garlic Zoom and you ever have a need to chop garlic this is one of the most useful kitchen gadgets you can buy.

Sharp, easier to use than a press especially if your hands don't work so well. Pretty sturdy, I've had mine for years and it's still going strong. Bought this one as a gift. Don't overload it, it will work but takes more effort than needed. I use mine for ginger as well, lose less of the juice with it. Fits well in your hand. Great value for money.

This little zoomer is so time saving, saves your hands and chopping board from garlic odour and evenly chops garlic. However, the two clear circle parts have 1cm in diameter holes that can collect water and you can't clean in there very effectively.I use a straw cleaner to get in there every couple of uses and always leave it sitting upright to air dry. The rest of the device is completely fine and easy to clean.

Been using this for a couple of weeks now and it is fab! So much better having fresh garlic than the stuff out of the jars, you can really taste the difference and it doesn’t leave you with garlic smelling hands. Love it.

amazing gadget

I'm not a massive fan of gadgets and have a bare minimum. Normally I find them fiddly and poorly made. This garlic chopper is neither. Peel some garlic, pop the cloves in the chopper, a few sweeps across your work surface and the job's done. No more tedious chopping with a chef's knife. It's all done in seconds. Cleaning is as simple as running under the tap. You can remove the blades beforehand but it's not necessary. I love this thing and would definitely recommend. 5 stars all round.

Do you dislike people? Because this nifty kitchen aid will be slicing through garlic so fast, every meal will now be garlic based…mussels in cream sauce…guacamole…choc brownies…butter & lasagneAfter 4yrs my original Chef Zoom flip lid broke. I was sad. Immediately tried my new purchase out with garlic, chilli’s, root ginger & all surrendered to the gauntlet of blades.•two flip lids means getting stuff in is easier but getting it out is way easier.• The main body is larger so it can handle more stuffing.• Blades are attached at the bottom to the wheels so it’s safer in accidental fingertip amputations.• All above points mean easier & more thorough cleaning.Bad??Instructions are soooo tiny. They state the blades must be aligned horizontal to be able to squeeze body & wheels to pull them down & out.It’s a bit bigger.Thrilled with the upgrades & a fan for life.

While the idea behind this kitchen gadget is simply brilliant, it is very difficult to clean it after using without pricking or slicing your fingers. Attempting to wash it with a brush, or putting it in the dishwasher leaks water inside the two parts of the clear plastic sides, and then it is big possible to dry it. I used it once and I think I will bin it. Shame, if the engineering if the great idea had been better, I would stick with this design as all my previous metal garlic mincers have ended up rusting quite quickly, even the expensive OXO one.

I'll never go back to chopping or pressing garlic again. This takes all the hard work and messs out of it. I can fit a few cloves at a time and I use a small fork handle to get all the little bits out. No garlic mess.on your hands anymore. Extremely easy to take apart and cleans up well.

This garlic chopping tool is amazing! It's so helpful in the kitchen. It makes chopping garlic a breeze. I originally I bought the small one and quickly realize I need the big one. I'm so happy with this purchase.

Ik heb gemengde gevoelens over de knoflookpers. Het is een innovatief apparaat, maar eigenlijk vind ik het niet veel beter werken dan een betere versie van een normale knoflookpers. Het werkt sneller, maar het is eigenlijk niet heel gemakkelijk om de knoflook uit de pers te halen en schoonmaken is meer werk.
