Digitally remastered and expanded four disc (three CDs + PAL/Region 0 DVD) edition. Includes the original album remastered, non-album single tracks, alternative versions, BBC sessions and live concert recordings from the era plus a DVD with an Esther Rantzen Show performance and a new acoustic version of 'Gazebo ' plus an interview with David Gedge discussing the album. All the content is housed in a hardback book which includes lyrics, imagery and memorabilia scans and extended notes. WATUSI was the fourth album by The Wedding Present, originally released in 1994. Recorded in Seattle with producer Steve Fisk, WATUSI heralded a freshly recalibrated Wedding Present sound, built around arcane keyboards and lo-fi '60s-influenced pop. The results were exultant and effervescent, with a timeless aura that hallmarks the album today as a lost classic.

Perfect example of the meaning of Mod!
Everything they do, or have done has it's own specific timbre, tone, color, attitude that would be projected from stage! I love the almost.... surf/spy tone and rhythms. 'It's A Gas' is what I consider a perfect song, incredible sound and if you don't sing along with the chorus, it's probably because you're dead.

PERFECTION!!!
I first heard songs off this back when it came out and I was first in college and doing a zine. These guy's music have stuck in my head ever since!!! This CD is surfly Indie rock with great vocals. Spangle is beautiful sounds like its music is made up of old samples .Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah is the perfect bootie shaker and Click Clickhas great harmonies (boy/girl) and a super vibe!No CD collection is complete with out this one.

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
With Watusi The Wedding Present have produced a surpricingly upbeat album with an amazingly ugly cover. What can one expect from a Wedding Present album with songs titled `yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah', `shake it', it's a gas' and `hot pants'? Utter feeling of betrayal and despair of course. Each hapless girlfriend that has courted Gedge and gotten away has inevitably become infamous in the mind of every fan as his frustrations towards the female (and the new boyfriend) find release in a new song. But here Gedge is swinging like an adolescent, dipping only in `spangle' implying that his predestined history with the opposite gender hasn't strayed from the path. Never too complex, never abandoning a winning formula (the guitarriff never gets boring even though it's used in every single song on every single album) The Wedding Present is never short of great.

Perfect
Quite simply, my favourite album from 1994. Mr Gedge has created a vastly underrated, strum-tastic, classic. Swimming Pools, Movie Stars is a stand out and will always remind me of being 18. Buy it!
