An excellent read
This book was a pleasure to read. I found it extremely hard to try to put it down and failed miserably. I highly recommend this author.

a good read
Lisa Gardner is my favorite current suspense author, and I'm happily working my way through her many novels. Gone, is not one of my favorite so far, mainly because it didn't keep me up all night. Gardner has set the bar so high, that even she fails to meet the readers' expectations. That's not to say Gone is not a wonderful read, because it is, it just didn't compel me to stay up all night reading it.Gone continues the relationship of Quincy and Rainie, though this is the first time I've met them. Apparently they met at a crime scene, Quincy is 'the best of the best', criminal profiler, and Rainie is an unacknowledged alcoholic. Rainie is kidnapped and held for ransom, but Quincy is unconvinced as the kidnappers stated motivation. Gardner really explores what makes both of these fascinating characters tick. She makes me want to read more of her books in order to explore them both further, but the story wasn't a 'have to get to the ending' sort of suspense.I really like the character of the local sheriff, named Shelly. I wanted to know more about her, and maybe that will happen. She's so real, and brave, and inspiring, that she deserves her own story. Maybe Gardner's given her one and I just haven't gotten to it yet.Quincy is the sort of man every woman dreams of and it's frustrating to watch Rainie abuse him. He's so wonderful that you just know he had to be written up by a woman. Quincy's daughter Kimberley shows up and she's a great female character and role model. Love her and her boyfriend Mac.I would have to say that the secret to Gardner's success is that she writes such real, and appealing characters that we can't stand to see them in jeopardy. Gardner then writes to most intriguing and surprising plot twists, leaving her readers no choice but to spend some sleepless hours wondering if their new 'friends' make it out alive. Combine this with ending that don't always wrap things up nicely, but leave room for the human factor, and you've got a formula that sells books by the thousands, creating fans like me who will read anything she writes.

As always
She does it every time I open one of her books, I can't put it down ! This is the second time for this book and it's even better. It's a good thing I'm retired. I stay up so late reading, I cannot get up with the alarm in the morning.

They immediately come to Oregon to assist in the search for Rainey.Soon, another person disappears. Who is the kidnapper. Will the police find everyone alive?

This will never be gone from my collection!
I have this in paperback, but needed to have the Kindle version as well. There are a handful of books I will go back and read again (and again). And this is one of them. The contrast between the characters' strengths and their vulnerabilities provides a very dynamic read. The heroine is very independent, strong secure but her struggles with alcohol, relationships and work real show the cracks in her facade. Her husband, the strong, silent type, struggles with his strong love for her, but knows he cannot fix her and is willing to step away so she can find her way. When she goes missing, he will no longer stand aside, but will do whatever is necessary to bring her back. And you get the feeling that it's not just so she can safely find her own way again, but he is determined to help her find her way back to their life together. No matter how many times I read this book, even knowing how it ends (and maybe because I do know) I feel the gaping holes, frustrations, and even joy at each step. Really, you just want to smack them and make them see they are destined to be together. It's just getting them there through though this trauma. Now I want to read it again...

Another cookie cutter story.
Easy to read to the point that no matter how long it takes you don’t miss anything! I think is time for Lisa Gardner to change the characters. Too predictable and disengaging. I’m done with the same old same old.

kept me on the edge of my chair through the entire book.
One of the best series of books from Lisa Gardner and I have read most her books. Love this series and loved this book. Couldn’t put it down. Keep going Lisa, you are doing a fantastic job with your writing.

Non stop action
This has to be up there as one of Lisa Gardner's best. A real page turner, unputdownable, however you describe it, don't miss it.

A good read
I enjoy Lisa Grdner's books. I've always read this genre but lately the authors seem to be taking it too far like it's some sort of competition. Gone keeps you on your toes even if you have figured out "who done it"
