Cheap but Fiddly fix for a broken cable.
The Platinum version of GHD we have has solid fixed silver hinge, what a pain to replace the cable.Time & Patience required to take the whole thing apart, so you can get at the cables connecting end.But it is a cheap solution, compared to buying another new set of straighteners.The Cable and straighteners are now working fine.

You can’t even replace ghd platinum wires. Don’t waste your money.

Easy to fit
Fixed the wife's straighteners. The outer sheath of cable had burst open & it's definitely better to be safe with these things.Less than 5 minutes & was fixed easily, no typical rewiring as such. Just undone a couple of retaining screws & the old part/new part is able to pop out/ pop in.
