Great pack for back country camping
Lots of room in this pack for whatever you may want to bring. Have to watch not too bring too many things just because there is room for it or it will be heavy. The rain cover stretches nicely over a fully packed load and is attached with a flexible elastic band inside the storage compartment on the very bottom. It is hard to release the velcro flap on the bottom to get out the rain cover: set down the pack to work on it, or get a friend to help you get it out while you are carrying the pack. Practice a variety of load configurations to get your best balance. Items can be mounted on the top of the removable fanny pack, but will make the height hard for creeping under low-hanging branches and fallen trees. The many quick-release tabs for the adjustable straps can be daunting to figure out when they are all disconnected, but with practice it will become more apparent how everything is connected. There are left and right side zipper side pockets just right for a 1 liter bottle. Stretchy lower side netting pockets are good for another bottle, or other quick access items. It can be tricky to reach around to grab anything out on the go. A small zippered wallet-sized pocket at the right side belt is just right for small items such as a granola snack. The chest strap between the shoulder straps is difficult to snap together unless it is perfectly aligned; it doubles as an awkward emergency whistle. The top under the removable pack has a double layered drawstring system super for tightening the load and restricting water intrusion. A clasp there allows additional closure tightening. Tent and tarp easily go into a separate lower compartment with zippered access to the lower interior. Inside is plenty of room for water bladder and separated clothes. The section between the zippered side pockets also acts as another expandable compartment and has additional storage with a centerline outside zipper. There are three adjustable straps fastened side to side which can be used to tighten the pack or to secure a bedroll or other items. The removable top pack has a strap inside with a plastic clasp hook good for holding keys; multiple inner zippered compartments allow sorted storage of small quick access items; outside has two adjustable straps for a bedroll as well as zigzag bungie for quick mounting of items. Remove this upper pack to lighten your load or to make a separate trip as just a fanny pack. Bottom of main pack also has two adjustable straps for a bedroll, as well as loops for hanging items. We took this on a two night remote island trip with 17 miles walking and it worked well for our needs. The formed padding was comfortable on my back though it did get hot and sweaty in spite of the ventilation contours.I recommend this pack for its versatility and comfort. If you do not need all the compartments and volume of storage a smaller pack may be a lighter option.

Only pack you will ever need!
Wow! Where do I begin on this pack. GREAT quality! GREAT price! GREAT features! This is my second backpacking pack I've had. And I don't think I'll ever buy another one. If this were to break I'd buy this same one again. This pack is one of the few backpacks I've researched that are ultralight and have pockets on exterior of the pack. Man that was a big seller for me. I wanted a pack that had exterior pockets and was a ultralight pack. This is the one pack I found I really liked.I picked this pack up for $100. MSRP is like $189-$200. So WOW! Great deal. Definitely recommend this pack. There are way to many excellent features it's hard to pick just a few to talk about. But I really like the exterior pockets for an ultralight pack. Most ultralight packs are just a big 55l-65l stuff sack. This one is so much more. Also on the front of the pack. There are cross member buckles. Once you undo those it kinda butterfly opens up. Along the inside of that flap is a zipper that runs the length of the pack and alows super easy access to contents inside bag. This is super handy as it is always hard to have to open your pack and dig to the bottom to get that one item you need. (Toilet paper, ect. ) So this side zipper makes life super easy with this pack. And it is covered by the flap so protected from rain and dust. Also tons of gear attachment loops, D rings, Daisy chain bungie, and straps. (Have to be careful not to over pack this pack as it has room for more than you need.) Last thing is the rainfly/ rain shield cover at bottom of the bag. Man that is super nice. Nothing ruins you hiking/camping trip like a downpour and wet gear. This rain cover is great. It is attached in a compartment at bottom of the bag. Just undo the very strong velco and pull it out and it's attached so you will never loose it. Also I like that is is attached so once it's done raining you can leave it out to dry as you continue you journey/trip. Then pack it back up.I would recommend this pack to everyone. It is adjustable. So can fit anyone who will be using it. Small kids this pack I think might be too big. Maybe just keep it packed light for kids and you would be okay. Also it's comfy. But I need to test it out longer to get a better feel for it. I am 6ft 2in. And 160lbs soaking wet lol. But this pack fits great for me. That's another plus.I hope this review helps. I have not seen many reviews for this bag on YouTube. So maybe I will post one in the future. Thanks and hope this helps you get a better idea of this pack! 🤙

First impression good.
This is a first impression review. I will be taking the outfitter to Mono Lake in June and will update the review then. For the price this is a heavily featured backpack. The material: It looks and feels good. I expect it to hold up very well and the rain fly is a nice touch. Build: The overall construction of the pack is nice. Well thought out and with plenty of space. The stitching looks good, but hard to say what it'll do under load. Fit: I am 5'7" with a slim build 29-30" waist. I am on the cusp of this bags fitting size. I literally have maybe a centimeter of space left on the front waist/hip buckle and I have maxed out the chest buckle. The padding feels very good although I am worried that the material won't breathe well when I am sweating on a long and hot hike.My gripes so far with the bag are minor. I wish the fitting was a little better for a slimmer person as myself, but I wanted a larger bag. The front waist pocket is too small to fit an iphone6 comfortably. It's a really really tight fit.Overall first impression is it's a very good deal at $100. I did a lot of research on customer reviews and competitive products and I feel Teton's customer service record puts this bag over similar in the same price range.

Well made - adaptable - comfortable entry level pack
I have only had this pack a short while so I haven’t really put it to the test on an extended trek yet, but I did take it along on a one day snowshoe trek - performed well, lots of space, very adjustable to keep contents from moving around. Easy access pockets and belt pouch for fast access to necessities, water bottle mesh pocket. Very comfortable back pad and harness - adjustable for a variety of loads and body types. Some unique features like a detachable top flap that doubles as a fanny pack and a built in rain cover. Fairly rugged construction and stitching. At 5lbs unloaded this is not for those seeking a true ultra-light pack, it is an entry level mid weight pack that i is capable of larger volumes and heavier loads - ideal for portaging on kayak or canoeing trips or for people who have bulky clothing and sleeping gear - good value for the price of around $100.

except that I would have liked a comprehensive manual of all the pockets and features ...
Used this bag for a three day trip on mount washington, I have to say the big fitted way more than I was expectingI dont have any cons, except that I would have liked a comprehensive manual of all the pockets and features but that is not something you see often.I was shopping at MEC and could only find what I wanted at two to three time the price, with less features. So the short story islots of storage, hydration pack fitted well (3L)My big northface sleeping fitted just in the bottom compartiment, but the straps to tighten it were perfectI was carrying a secondary backpack (22L daypack) using the snowshoe straps and that was perfect.lots of easily accessible pocketsfree rain cover included is a huge bonus when you know retail stores are selling them for 45 to 60 for this size of backpack.QUality felt right, stitching looks of a good quality as does the fabric."sadly" no rain yet, but I will use it again during winter on multiple occasions so I will report back on wagterproofing with snow
