Does this product need to be plugged into an AC outlet ?

No, it has to be wired into the furnace!

Will this work with a 3 wire heat only forced air system?? My system only has red, white & green wires...Or can I just use the green wire as a common.

Hi Rcq78, this C wire adapter requires 4 wires. If you have only 3 wires we recommend contacting your HVAC contractor to help you run a new wire from the C on your heating system to C on the thermostat. - Maria

Will this product work with a 2 wire system?

Hi Marcella, thanks for contacting us. Since your system has 2 wires only, we recommend checking on the furnace motherboard to see if there is a C terminal and run a new wire from that C to the thermostat on C. The other option will be to Install a second transformer that provides 24Volts. The adapter won't be compatible. Please, feel free to reach us at 1-855-733-5465. We'd be glad to assist you with further information. Thank you.

Can this me used in a dual application with 2 of the same thermostat’s. First floor and second floor?

No, a Honeywell Home CWIREADPTR C-Wire Power Adapter will be required for each thermostat. -Jerry
