Honestly, it looks beautiful, but the edge of the leather handle is so hard it digs into your hand. If you use a heavy cast iron pan daily and are carrying it around the kitchen cooking/rinsing it, it hurts to hold. 😔 It does not get hot at all, so in that aspect it's also good. Maybe over time it gets softer and it wouldn't be so bad? I'll likely replace it with something made from a different material.

The craftsmanship was superb and the fit was very snug on 10' skillet, but I had to return it and find something without the thick seams down each side. I'm an older female (70ish) with smallish hands and with age you loose strength in your hands. The seams dug into my hand and I couldn't wrap my fingers all the way around for a good tight hold on the handle. Having to return it is due to my specific issues, the cover would probably work great for most people and would keep you from feeling much heat as it's made from nice thick leather. A quality product just not the right one for me.

This leather cast iron handle cover was purchased as a gift for my daughter who had received a Lancaster Cast Iron skillet last Christmas. She was thrilled to receive the leather handle cover and had commented how she almost purchased one for herself while shopping at Lancaster Cast Iron in Lancaster County, PA.I had purchase a leather cast iron handle cover earlier in the year for myself. The one I purchase for myself was not from the same seller because I didn't want to spend as much money just incase it didn't preform well. They do an excellent job protecting hands from the hot iron handle. The more they are used the better looking they become.The leather handle cover fits tight which is good so that the pan doesn't slide around with the cover on. My only issue was getting the cover on my skillet handle. I actually used a hammer to knock it on before I contacted the seller and they gave me good advise on how to soften the leather so that it would slide on easier. I also love that these quality leather handle covers are made right here in the good ol' USA!

normally I don't have a problem with cast iron handles. As long as I'm not cooking for a long period of time they don't heat up super crazy hot. But I know a lot of people who are sensitive to that kind of stuff so I got one of these. Works on every pan that I have and I can leave it on there without any problem. It's worth it if you cook with them regularly

Quality of construction is high. Nice thick leather and stitching seems durable. It did a really nice job protecting my hand from the heat. Much better than an earlier less expensive silicone version I had. The only think I really don’t like about it is the awkward shape of a grip. It fits relatively flat and very wide to the grip. It makes picking up a heavy iron skillet uncomfortable and unstable. I’m an average sized guy and so I can manage just fine. However, if you are elderly or a woman with with a smaller grip I wouldn’t recommend this one. Overall, it works fine for me and protects well from the heat. I just wish it had a better feel.

The leather cast iron handle cover worked great. It protected my hand from the heat. The cover stayed in place much better than using a pot holder. My favorite thing of all is that it is made in the USA.

This handle cover has been great in use on my cast iron skillet. Easy to handle and have had no issues. Would make a wonderful gift for someone.

I put this leather handle cover on my favorite skillet, it makes cooking a lot easer not having to try to move a very hot skillet with out burning my hands!!!! As this handle cover brakes in it will grow a very nice patina and if the stiches come out can be easily repaired !!!! I will never need to buy another!!!!
