The Electro-Faustus EF105 Drum Thing is a percussive Noise Device. Or maybe it's an Electronic Drum. Or maybe a weird microphone. Either way, piezoelectric madness will ensue. No batteries required.

Good s***
good s***, pickup in a metal encasing, simple as that. Get some cool sounds with effect pedals too, can do maybe half the job a stompin' bass can, but much cheaper. Good thing to experiment with but definitely more of a fun factor than an actual long term instrument.

fun drum
I bought this because I wanted a little drum type machine for someone with no rhythm. I works good. Start out with low volume and work your way up. I've named my drum thing Meg!

Ummmm....
I had some money left over on an old gift card, so I picked this up. I haven't really found a use for it yet. It's basically a contact mic inside a metal box. It's not really that cool. I like this company, but this product is pretty much useless.

It's great but know what you're getting.
Yes, it's a piezo pickup in a metal box with a textured bullseye. If you're a sound designer or composer or foley artist and know how to manipulate sound with effects, speed, etc... You'll love it. Scrape a coin across it with a tape delay. Tap it with a rubber mallet and a nail then slow it down 75% with tons of reverb.....Simple, for all your sci-fi and horror trailer needs. If you plug it into a guitar amp, chances are its not going to be a pleasurable experience for you.

It's an electronic drum...no, it's absolute garbage.
It's an electronic drum...no, it's a percussive microphone...no, it's a piece of crap. It's a metal box that creates the loudest feedback ever. I can stand thirty feet from my amp, and still feedback galore. Go on and buy one if you want to recreate Metal Machine Music.
