I haven't tried Wild Planet Mackerel until recently. Have been purchasing their sardines for quite some time now and when I found the mackerel in the "Pantry" option, I decided to give it a try. I love the flavor of this fish. Nice change from the sardines, but the price for the dozen mackerel is too much and will stick to pantry option, for now.I use the fillets in olive oil version in many of the pasta or rice dishes I make. Adds depth of flavor to and will enhance most any other ingredients you would add as well as the nutritional value.

First off I looked everywhere in my little town & online for Mackerel and Amazon is the only place that it. My husband's aunt, who's always been like a mother to me ( she's 74 now) for months has talked nonstop about wanting & missing some fish cake's ( usually salmon but wanted mackerel). Even though these were in olive oil, which only added to the taste by the way and were amazing.They were nice tender , very flavorful , fresh tasting and not overly salty. Yes they are a little pricey but delicious right out of the can and made delicious fish cakes .

If you want a quick, no-carb, low calorie snack or light meal you can't do better than these tasty little fish. Nice, firm texture. Really good taste. Not salty. Good quality olive oil adds to the flavor and helps satisfy hunger. I add a piece of fruit and some whole-grain crackers or bread, and I'm all set. What an easy lunch!

Never had mackerel fillets before.I usually get sardines or anchovies. Mackerel has a milder taste then the others. These taste good.

I am dedicated to sustainability healthy organic practices as a company’s priority . The tasty mackerel serves us very well with our dietary fish consumption requirements .

Not farm raised, environmentally sound. Great recipes you can find online.

This product is from Vietnam and only labeled for a company in McKinleyville, Ca.Nowhere on the listing did it say is was from Vietnam, a country known to use forced slave labor on their fishing vessels as well as having poisons in their water. The product tasted overly "fishy" indicating improper handling of the fish prior to processing. Truly fresh fish does not smell very strong either prior to or after production.
