Frankensbox: What will you CREATE Will it be beautiful? Will it be ugly? Creativity is not about perfection, it's about imagination. Frankensbox connects your imagination to reality. Beautiful or ugly, it's your creation!Create nowAs great as 3D printing is, getting started can be understandably a bit daunting. So who wants their initial out of box experience to involve hours of assembling dozens of parts (and hoping their untested machine actually works), then more time and tweaking for setup and calibration? We don’t either. We like to think, “plug in, install the app, then you’re off to the races,” is the way things are supposed to work these days.Be better3D printer companies talk about the speeds their printers can achieve, usually in terms of mm/sec. The reality is that reasonably large and high-quality pieces can take hours. If your project is going to take hours, your printer better be quiet. And any noise it does make better be soft and pleasant. It better be compact enough not to take over your work area. And have a design that isn’t an eyesore. It better be fully enclosed to keep out dirt and paws and small fingers. It better be smart enough to auto-pause when the door is opened. And to auto-resume after the door is closed again. Or after power is restored, were it ever to go out. Also in the boxSpool of filament, SD card, SD card adapter, USB cable, power cable, spatula, hex wrenches , Quick Start Guide.FeaturingPrint Material: PLA ABS Wood PC PVCOne Click LevelingOne Button PrintingWi-Fi ConnectionUltra Quiet (<50dB)Removable PlatformNo Platform Heat NeededPrint Size: 150 x 150 x 175 mmPrint Resolution: 0.1 mmNozzle Temp: to 250º CPrint Speed: to 150 mm/s

For the Price 5Star, however,
I have to say the product for the price is definitely 5 star! My first three prints have been outstanding! Start up was relatively easy for me, but I am an Engineer with some experience in commercial 3D printing. That brings me to the however.First I was impressed with the packaging and product as I unpacked! Unfortunately, I did not get a spatula for removing builds from the platform? Really not that big a deal as removal from the supplied painters tape was relatively easy.Second, the software download is so new my virus protection threw up all over it! There were not enough downloads for the protection to feel comfortable. Seeing as the product and packaging were so professional and the fact that I had virus scanned the software prior, I went ahead and installed. (No problems so far) However, every time I start the software I still get a warning. Frankensbox really needs to work on this!Thirdly, the quick start guide is somewhat lacking! A little more detail would have been appreciated! Like some explanations of how to use support in the software. (support as in supporting your 3d build) There does not seem to be ANY help options in the software!Final however, when the quick start tells you to 'feed the filament through the hole' it MEANS you must feed the filament through the hole below the spring loaded gear assembly!! Not all that visible the first time you do it! Also, know that if you do a reject material, it pulls the filament all of the way out of the hole and you have to feed it again. (notes that could have been in the quick start)Final notes, while the Frankensbox starts up pretty much as easily as advertised, you need to start doing some research on 3D printing! Especially, if you are going to experiment with different materials! You will need to adjust the generic software settings!

Save yourself a headache and find another 3D printer
It is with much regret that I give this review. I think it is only the 2nd negative review I have ever left for a product and I do the majority of my shopping on Amazon.Originally this was my husband's main Christmas present. We did not attempt to try it out until the holidays were behind us. The main thing we are wanting it for is to print our own cookie cutters. The first unit we received connected immediately to the software. I was able to successfully get it to heat up and load the material and level the bed. As I was trying to load an stl file to slice and print, the unit lost connection with the laptop. All of the lights had gone off and it appeared it had no power and was no longer connected through the software. I called their technical support before they opened as I am CST and they are on PST. I was not called back until 4pm CST. The tech sold me the unit most have a malfunction and to return it to Amazon and they would immediately get another on its way.We got the second one and again it loaded and leveled flawlessly. This time it started printing and was showing on the software that it was printing, but after over an hour and at the time it indicated the printing was 40% complete there was no material on the bed. I stopped the print in the software and attempted to restart it. As I reloaded the file to print, I noticed there was no connection to the printer again and the first scenario repeated itself. Both times I tried to reset the machine using the reset tool.I am no dummy. I have my MS in Computer Science. These printers come with NO usable setup or operational instruction or manual. There is nothing included, nothing online, and no YouTube videos. The Apple and Android software they tell you can be downloaded to your phone does not exist. The Moira Software they reference it in Chinese.I am sending back my second unit tomorrow.Unless you have nothing else to do in your life other than add frustration, do not buy this printer. Do not put yourself through the 3 week aggravation we have dealt with. This has made what could have been a fun experience a nightmare and disappointment. When I talked to their service tech he did not feel encouraging that operational documentation and instruction videos would be forthcoming anytime soon.I will gladly update my review if and when the company reaches out to me and makes this situation right. We replaced these with a Qidi Maker-X that was plug and play came with excellent set-up and instructional documentation. We are on our 3rd spool of filament and not a single problem or frustration. It even came with a built in camera to monitor prints. Well worth the extra $50.
