Venom by Donny Cates Vol. 4: Venom Island

It went down a treat you love this book so much so I've got him another one as well

It’s so good, worth your money as a Venom fan.

I pre-ordered the paperback and I didn't get it when released. Instead weeks later I get a second hand copy not in the best condition. Having said that the story itself is a decent enough epilogue for absolute carnage

I hate it ! It was so terrifying!😱

Unfortunately, this review is going to come across as harsh. However, since the series has been so far stellar this edition was a huge disappointment for me. Carnage didn't need to come back. He was dead. That arc was done. Why he came back so Eddie could essentially spend some time pretending to be schwarzengger I really don't know. As I said in my title this almost borders on predator fan fiction. The story here added essentially nothing except for two things. If you want to avoid spoilers avoid the next few line. Dylan has symbiote connected abilities and Eddie tells the Avengers that Knull is coming. Apart from those details, you don't need to buy this. Should've focused and expanded on those two things and progressed the story from there. The rest does nothing. Again, I hate how harsh this comes across, but considering that I've been leaving 4/5 star reviews for everything else this really dropped the ball. Hopefully it'll return strong next time.

Bought it as a collectible, but it’s ruined by this sticky paper glue thing stuck to it.

I really enjoyed this follow up story to Absolute Carnage. The art is by Mark Bagley, the best Spider-Man or Venom artist ever. It's cool to see Eddie getting respect from Captain America and the Avengers. Very well written.

I have no clue why this volume was such a dip in quality compared to literally everything else attached to this run. Whilst I understand Carnage needs to be resolved after he was absorbed by Eddie, this was a very strange and tedious way to go about doing that. Fortunately the rest of the series has been stellar quality so I will be buying the next volume, however this definetly felt like mandatory filler.

I really enjoyed the twists and drama in the story. Good art and excellent finish, can’t wait for the next story.
