Expensive, but worth it.
Here's the deal. I've been drinking chocolate shakeology for two weeks now and can't get enough of it. It's expensive, yes, but if you track your monthly budget you'll find you spend at least that much on fast food and/or coffee (more on the coffee part later). My first taste of Shakeology...well, it's odd. Mainly because our tastes are used to processed/sugary stuff, which Shakeology is basically the exact opposite of those things. I bought a $15 Hamilton Beach blender and it makes blending a breeze, It's small and easy to clean. I make two shakes each morning without all the cleaning hassle of larger blenders. Trust me, use a small blender and it'll make the shakes tastes better and save you time preparing.I basically drink the same shake every day: chocolate Shakeology, water, peanut butter, ice. It's like having a peanut butter cup breakfast. I wish I could afford to drink more often! It's true that these shakes curb your appetite and sugar cravings. It takes some time for your body to adjust, but if you drink this for breakfast every day and stay away from all the sugary/processed stuff during the day, your cravings will change. This one shake gets me through until lunch, and even then I'm not that hungry. I never have that "I'm starving!" feeling where I want to consume a large pepperoni pizza by the time I get home from work.Through Beachbody, they also provide the T25 home DVD workout. I've never liked DVD workouts but I gave this a shot. It's pretty intense, and I have to say I really enjoy it. Mainly because each session is only 25 minutes and the countdown timer is always shown (including how long you have left for each set you're doing). It makes the workout go faster and keeps you motivated to keep going because you only have "x" amount of time left before you're done. However, no matter what you're doing for exercise, Shakeology will most certainly help you. I'm a coffee freak. I drink 2-3 cups or iced coffees a day. But, Shakeology has almost replaced my desire for coffee. And I say "almost", because I still tend to grab one later in the day. It's bittersweet because I absolutely love coffee, but I really don't drink it in the morning anymore. Shakeology gives me plenty of energy and I'm usually feel so satisfied I'll forget that I even want to grab a coffee. Finally, the cool think about the Shakeology powder is the large amount of easy-to-prepare shake recipes that it comes with. Most only require 2-3 simple ingredients. I love adding strawberries to my choc/PB shake, and sometimes vanilla extract. Tonight I mixed half a scoop with my Fage Greek Yogurt and it wasn't too bad. Definitely an upgrade over plain yogurt, but not nearly as good as the shake. Still, a nice option if you eat a lot of Greek yogurt. If you're really interested in trying Shakeology, buy the month supply and stick to it. Give it an honest shot. Obviously, you can't supplement a meal with it and then eat junk the rest of the day and complain that it doesn't work, nor expect it to work wonders within a week by itself. Depending on how healthy you already eat, it may take at least a week for your body and tastebuds to adjust. Keep in mind that a high sugar diet wrecks havoc on your tastebuds and cravings. Healthy, low-sugar foods like Shakeology might literally taste like dirt to you when you try it because your body is expecting the 12 teaspoons of sugar you normally drink from a Pepsi. The long-term cost is yet to be determined, but considering I normally spend at least $4/day on coffee, I know I can already afford the 30-day bag because I've been doing it for years via my coffee rituals. Good luck, and enjoy if you try!!

Some people love it, some hate it. We Love it!
I had been wanting to try shakeology for a long time. But the price was just too high for my budget. I have a few friends who are "coaches" and have tried to sell to me. But again, it's just been too expensive. My financial situation has improved a little and I was encouraged by a friend to at least give it a try. The sample box is $29.95 +shipping and tax. I live in a state that doesn't have sales tax, luckily, so that saved me a few bucks.5 days passed and I got my package in the mail. At this point I was really excited to try it and see how it tasted and how it affected my eating habits throughout the day. Let me share with you that I love food. I'm over-weight, but I'm not terribly over weight. I'm 5'5" and weigh about 160lbs. My ideal weight is around 135-140.The first day, I tossed a packet of the regular Chocolate flavor in my blender bottle with 16oz water and 4oz 1% (cows) milk and about 5 ice cubes and blended the holy hell out of it. I had read some reviews prior to purchasing about how it smelled better than it tasted. This kinda worried me when I smelled the powder and it smelled gross. Uh-oh, I thought, this is going to be a bust.BUT IT WASN'T! For a meal replacement shake, it was pretty good! I took a couple drinks to really get a feel for the shake. This is something I could stand to drink everyday. I had my boyfriend try it, he really enjoyed it as well, which is surprising because he is relatively picky AND doesn't like many healthy foods. So the fact that Mr. Picky also stated he could stand to drink a shake everyday, says something. The only thing we both noticed was the artificial sugar after taste. It's not terrible, but you notice it.I have also tried the Strawberry, Vanilla and Vegan Chocolate. They're all good. I haven't tried any of the fancy recipes that you can find on the Beachbody website or Pinterest, I've blended them all plain. As far as food cravings and my food intake throughout the day. I used to eat upwards of 2100-2200 calories per day. I'm a avid snacker and again, I love food. Since starting Shakeo, I've been able to keep my calories around 1400-1500 each day. It hasn't done much in the way of energy, but that could be due to the fact that I'm trying to cut down on my coffee intake and replace it with Shakeo. I will try to come back in the end of June and post an update on if I've had any significant help with losing weight from Shakeology.

I went right out and ordered the NOW Pea Protein Powder and the Amazing Grass Green Superfood (Brianna's alternative)
I wanted to folIow up on a post by Brianna Phan. I was excited to see her information of a less expensive alternative to Shakeology. I went right out and ordered the NOW Pea Protein Powder and the Amazing Grass Green Superfood (Brianna's alternative). A coach from 21 Day Fit disagreed with her and told me that Shakeology was superior. So...I decided to do a comparison. I painstakingly typed in a side-by-side Excel comparison of Shakeology with Brianna's two products. There is NO comparison. I even allowed an adjustment for the additional 9 grams in the Shakeology (42 vs. 33). The bottom line was that Shakeology did a much better job of covering a large percentage of the important vitamins. Here is a small snapshot of what I discovered. I wish I could post my Excel document instead! Fiber...24% of your daily required amount in Shakeology...only 10% in NOW & AGG combined. Protein...34% vs. 5%. Vitamin C 300% vs. 60%. Vitamin D 50% vs. 0%. Vitamin E 50% vs. 0%. Vitamin K1...50% vs. 62%. Vitamin B1 100% vs. 0%. Vitamin B2 76% vs. 28%. Vitamin B3 25% vs. 4%. I could go on, but this typing is a pain. My point is...Shakeology wins hands down. As soon as I drink up the two large containers of NOW Pea Protein Powder, I am going back to Shakeology. I wish I had never read Brianna's post. She is misinforming the public. I would have given Shakeology 5 stars, but I feel it is too expensive. Mark
