Honestly I don't know why more people don't use these vegetable presses. I use this mainly for pressing the excess water out of cucumbers when I want to make either pickles or cucumber salad. It's amazing how much crunchier the cucumbers get after spending a night in this thing. Mix some salt in with your sliced cukes and screw down the top piece. Easy peasy. Drain out the water a couple of times and screw down tighter. Some folks keep their veggies in here for a couple of hours. I usually keep them overnight or 24 hours. I really doubt you can overdo it. It's just so simple to use. Truly simple. And then results are fabulous. BOTTOM LINE: great gadget for pressing vegetables to get them crunchy. I mainly use it for cucumbers and zucchini because that's about the extent of my vegetable joy, but I am sure there are other veggies that would benefit.

Great for pickling Japanese vegetables, very sturdy and will not break. I use it almost weekly and have not had any issues.

It is good for fermentation. But it is so wide it is hard to open. So it has only been used once.

This is a nice little pickle maker. It's light and easy to carry, not too big so it can sit on my kitchen counter without taking up too much room, but big enough for my needs. So far, I've only used it to squeeze out the liquid from salted cabbage. It does a good job, however, I am very careful about not cranking down the press too quickly/vigorously. It is plastic so I don't want to push it too hard and break it. But, so far so good!

Very good seller. Be patient with the free delivery option, the product arrives after a little wait! The capacity is only 3 liters without the cover. When the cover is closed, the plunger at its low position takes away about half a liter. The picture does not give justice, the capacity is nowhere near the 4 liter stated, so the fair price could be a bit less. Also the can does not provide too much grip and leverage for turning and locking the lid if the can is packed to the capacity limit. Otherwise it is a very good product.

My wife makes all kinds of different tsukemono with it. Only thing, the clear container gets stained.

Works great and the low profiles makes it ideal for foods that need to spend time in the fridge whilst pickling.

Great product ! I’ve been using it for a while and it’s perfect for what it is. Very sturdy, easy to clean and does what it suppose to. Full mark !

今使っている容器は小さいので、きゅうりが一本そのまま入らないので購入しました。 問題なく入り、上から押さえられるので便利です。

This is Made in Japan and indeed it’s a good quality. I had a very similar one which I bought in Japan back in 1983 but the plastic disc that presses vegetables finally cracked as I twisted too tight. It was nearly 40 years old so it was time. So I needed new one to replace it. This one looks very similar to my old one and feels very durable. I just made some Japanese Tsukemono with Nappa cabbages and it worked great! I carefully screwed it down tightly on my veggies overnight and in the morning there was a lot of water coming up so I loosened up the screw a bit. It was ready at lunch time. I am very pleased to have found this. I am going to get another one for my daughter, too. 😎
