Jonah Thompson Flute Pack -Walnut Turtle

I LOVE this flute!!! It is my first native American flute and the sound is everything I hoped for. It sounds just like the raw recordings. Beautiful. I have been playing the Irish flute for about a year and this flute by Jonah was an easy transition. The best price in the market.

I am new to this instrument but I’m getting a real pitchy inconsistent sound, but not always Can any one tell me what I’m doing wrong? Any pointers?

Easy to play and so relaxing!

I purchased this flute to participate in a native American flute class. The class actually recommended going with High spirits flutes.. but it seemed like this package was a better deal with Jonah Thompson's flute as it came with the flute pouch and the booklet. So the sound of the flute is really good and the totem animal the turtle is carved with a lot of detail. Now at the end of my flute there's a little chip in the wood and a slight indentation which I am still trying to figure out what to do to correct that. I believe our teacher mentioned getting some wood glue and sanding paper but it is at the very end of the flute. So that was a little dismaying but the flute does sound great and I am happy with my purchase overall. I like the flute bag and the booklet with care and instructions and some songs I have used frequently. Also an assistant teacher in my class had a drone flute that was made by Jonah Thompson as well and it sounded really great. Now one thing I haven't found in the instruction book is that the animal in my case the turtle is wrapped around the first hole in the flute that affects the sound. And I have been tentative in terms of being able to move that animal to be able to oil the flute I have moved it a little bit and do not want to untie the wrapping because I am unsure that I would be able to rewrap it so that is a question I would have for Mr Thompson. But this was my first flute purchase and I'm definitely interested in continuing learning the native American flute I love the sound and I feel like it is a spiritual practice and is very healing in these turbulent times for myself and others to listen to the beautiful sound of the flute. So thank you and I am satisfied and may also purchase another flute or a double barrel flute in the future.

It's nice but the tone is not the best

I love this flute! Is as pictured and described. I have had it about a month now and still learning but when an experienced person plays it, it sounds heavenly.

Beautiful flute. With a little practice, it becomes easy to play. The trickiest part is being EXTREMELY gentle. It only takes a little overblowing to jump one or two octaves.

Great flute. Wonderful craftsmanship. Sound is exactly that soft, sit by the camp fire, creek side, or mountain vista, and zen out vibe I was searching for. Great little training manual scale book to. Your love in craftsmanship is clear with this flute Jonah.
