It works, follow directions and it is the best thing EVER.
Guys, let me tell you a thing. I have a lot of tattoos, and this was my first time ever using any sort of anesthetic or numbing agent. In short, I have an hour ride to my artist. Before leaving I got my boyfriend to lather me up (area in red circle in photo) which took up the whole 2oz bottle I had. My sides didn't get laid on as thick as my back. I noted this later. His only complaints were "it smells medical" and "it's really thick." Game on. Wrapped me up in plastic wrap with some medical tape and I got in my car in 105F weather for the drive; I assumed my pores would open up faced with this. They did.My artist set up and I hung out, maybe another half hour passed. Only when she was ready did she start to peel off my wrap, and she only uncovered what she was working on. I think this is also key. Unwrap an area to be worked on, wipe down, work, peel back and wipe as needed. She kept me and the goop covered in my original cling wrap until she needed to hit an area, slowly working. I can confirm this kept an even longer lasting feeling. To those whose artists are whining that it makes things harder- nah. It doesn't. The hard part for the artist it cleaning it off- it IS thick and glue-like in consistency. It smells like menthol. That's the beginning and end of difficulty. If anything, my artist was pleased to see my skin particularly pale meaning the capillary constriction was working AND bonus- that also meant it tightened up my skin. What's that mean? Less stretching. My artist actually got to do LESS work stretching me, less stress on her hands. Everyone wins. Now, I went into this skeptical. She's tried stuff. My super tattooed boyfriend who noted the goop and smell has tried stuff. My other artist and tattooed friends have tried stuff. I'm not swearing my experience will be yours because bodies vary, but lemme tell you. I hoped at worst a placebo effect would make my life easier. I was horrified at the concept of an eventual drop off, where you suddenly lose the numbing and your body hasn't had time to ramp up those endorphins along the way and suddenly you feel worse than ever and actually have to cut your session short. For me- nope. NOPE. Each greensoap wipe was painless. 80-95% of my pain was cut for what turned out to be A FIVE HOUR SESSION. Y'all. I sit well. I average 3.5-4.5 hours. I get fidgety around 3 hours. This was smooth sailing. No drop off. By the end of five hours i started to feel a bit more sensation in the area we started on. We hit one area curved down on my ribs that was clearly missed when I was getting applied and HOT DAMN. Yes. Night and day. There's that discomfort. So I tried this because the lining down my lower back and butt and kidneys started to hurt... a lot. I started to get worried what should be three sessions would get split up because I wouldn't be able to sit. Such shame. Pride- gone. I figured I'd try a thing, I've earned it (whatever that means) and researched multiple brands, expecting to roll through a few and maybe have some "meh" or "no" or "yeah but" experiences. HUSH was everything and then some. In a hella tender area, and those of you who have played this game know the area in question- I felt damn near nothing. Some areas didn't even hurt- not even pressure, just like a rollerball pen jiggling around. It lasted my entire time. I credit this both to my 1hr - 1.5hr pretreat, the heat during my ride to help open my skin (I did NOT rub anything into me but tried to have it laid on as thick as possible- thicker areas WERE number than thinner) and my artist removing wrap only as she needed. In short- I clotted and shed less fluid than usual. I was happy and comfortable. My skin was super taut making my artist's life easier (cleaning a methol-y glue off me aside), and honestly even on my ride home and through the night into the next day I waited for the drop off. I waited for the trade off. I waited to feel sick and nauseated or skin rashy or dry or just... something. With over 100 hours of pure work done, virgin skin, cover up, color, line, etc, I knew what was 'normal' for me- everything with HUSH was better. Everything. I healed fasted. Note I also use Saniderm the day after my session for healing, and this didn't interfere, if anything I was still further along with healing and shed considerably less lymph/fluid than usual.Again, listen to your body and most importantly listen to your artist. Also be willing to know instructions matter and even something followed perfectly may not work for you. I was numb and never really 'came out of it' until maybe 6+ hours later when I was just sleepy and hungry and home and never crashed. I still did better than any other time before, be it my best natural session or worst. I will be using this forever. Even if my next session (while we finish up my cheek) nets me 1/4 of the results, it'll have been worthwhile. It burns a bit when you first put it on, as everyone says. But that fades in 30-45 minutes and is no worse than icy hot. My artist, her artist friends will all be trying this next. She'll recommend it to her other clients who can't sit well, and/or who are getting work on sensitive areas done. I do not recommend you go fresh into being tattooed for your first time ever with this, but if you're doing big work, go ahead. You've earned it. It's amazing.Photo: My before at my last session, about 14 hours in on my back, red circle is about what 2oz netted me. Second photo is the after, having used HUSH, 5 hours later, feeling maybe 5-10% the normal pain I would have, and never crashing out.

This stuff is an absolute DREAM!!!
My artist recommended I try this out for a new piece I was starting on my ribs, from my hip to my armpit. I put it on the lower half of the area but not the upper half to get a good comparison. This works! On the portion with the hush I couldn't tell if the needle was in my skin or if it was just the vibration from the gun. On the upper half I was nearly in tears. I don't mind tattoos, but in the sensitive areas I will never get inked without this again!Make sure you follow the directions! Apply 1/4 inch thick, do NOT rub in. It will burn for about 30 min before going numb. If it's still burning you haven't kept it on NEARLY long enough. Id recommend keeping it on for at least an hour beyond when the burning sensation stops before you start to have work done. Make sure you cover with plastic wrap. Apply a minimum of one hour before session. I tried this twice, once for fun and once for a session. Applying 1 hr before session will leave you numb for about 2 hrs. Applying 2 hrs before session will leave you numb for about 4 hours. I noticed if you apply too thin, the effectiveness in those areas wears off relatively quickly.I estimate this 4 oz bottle will be good for 3 seasons of 12"x12" coverage.I suspect the negative reviews are from people who have difficulty following directions because this is AMAZING!

LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEE this product.
This product was awsome.... I'm getting a quarter sleeve done. My 1st appointment took 3 hours. I didn't have this product and I got all my line work done. He started to do the shading and the pain was so intense I had to tap out. I was SO scared to go back and have it finished. I ordered this product and put it on 2 hours before my 2nd appointment. This appointment lasted 2 hours and was a breeze to get done. It didn't take away 100% of the pain, I could still feel a little but NOTHING compared to the 1st appointment. I was seriously considering not having it finished because the pain was so intense. Thank goodness I tried this product, I'm now excited to get more tattoos.

WORKS BETTER THAN EXPECTED!!
Used it today for an inner bicep tattoo and felt nothing!I applied it longer than advised on the bottle (2 hours before) and wrapped it securely with saran wrap.It does have a icy hot sensation, cools than burns but it goes away about 30 minutes after :)Don't wash it off, just wipe it off with a paper towel (artist did that for me)I was worried about it fading out but it really didn't.It felt like a vibrating ball point pen was drawing on my skin, there are still some areas of my skin that are still numb (it's been 5 hours since I got my tattoo).I was very skeptical about this but it works amazingly! :)))Don't let the negative comments here discourage you, just leave it on longer!
