(Music Sales America). This volume presents absolutely everything that any guitar repairman, player, builder or owner needs to know about the proper care of every kind of guitar. It covers the repair, set-up, restoration and construction of acoustic and electric guitars, and includes hundreds of diagrams. Review: Good for simple repairs - Good simple repairs. However, No help for repair of the full-length crack on the back of my Martin Review: Fine Book - I'm 65 and I'm getting ready for a different kind of relationship with guitars. I'd like to become a luthier; a very good luthier. As such there's no such thing as enough knowledge. This series is well written and the information is well presented. As it is among the first of its kind I've every owned I can't say it's the best, BUT I would recommend it to anyone who is on my path or just wants to refine their own instrument(s).

Excellent book--Joe Casados
I own a 1974-75 Gibson Super 400. This book showed me the reality of having to send my guitar most likely to the Gibson factory to have the neck reset. The guitar suffered a terrible fall and the neck shifted. I did not realize there was so much that went into the repairing of a guitar. This book is very informative. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in guitar repair.

complete guitar repair is for builders
This book is great if you are into BUILDING guitars. But for repair its actually not all that helpfull. Most of the things gone over in this book are about how to make a guitar, which is cool. But not what i was looking for since the title is "guitar repair". But, overall its a good book with usefull information... A bit dated, but still relevant

Historic 1978 book covers many types of guitar repair but some modern techniques are not covered.
This was the first important book on guitar when published in 1978 and most of the repair techniques are still valid but not all. Among the missing are nut fills and how to use gauged nut files. The most glaring omission is how to reset an acoustic guitar neck by steaming the dovetail joint for removal. Thatโs ok as there are now a ton of articles and videos that cover these and other modern techniques. Although Mr. Kamimoto is still around as of this writing, Iโm certain that this will never be updated โ again, thatโs ok. This is a must-have for anyone interested in the subject of guitar repair or those just curious as to how their instruments are put together.

Guitar Hero...
Mr. Kamimoto is my new Guitar (repair) Hero. He renders straightforward advice, without so much of the "whom I've known and where I've been" B.S. common in many repair guides for this most popular musical instrument on the Planet.

Review of Kamimoto's Complete Guitar Repair
This is an old book with a new cover and some new data. The thing that's still the same is the table of string lengths and fret placments. Something that might help with the next issue is another table that uses the metric system. Don't replace inches. Just add metric.

trรจs bon bouquinโฆ

Excellent Book
I can't believe this book is from 40 or more years ago -- it's so comprehensive. Would recommend to anyone who is interested in learning about how guitars work and how to repair/build them.

Complete Guitar Repair Guide
I'm an acoustic guitar guitar tech, and for my birthday my wife gave me a copy of a well known "Guitar Repair Manual". It doesn't cover everything, however a local Master Luthier, recommended "Complete Guitar Repair". I ordered it and when it arrived was initially disappointed, as it's half the weight and thickness of others. But upon turning its pages, I realized that this book is a treasure and worth its weight in gold. It contains excellent source material, supported by black and white photos and simple illustrations, for repairs a tech is likely to encounter. This book is a great buy.
