Very important information for the serious dressage rider.
This book isn't for the faint of heart. It is serious reading about serious riding. There are not pictures, figures, tables, or drawings. The work described in the book can be a bit technical and probably not the book for the weekend rider who hacks over a couple of fences and wants to spend the day trail riding (though there is certainly nothing wrong with that!) Instead, this book tackles some of the big issues with correctly starting young horses and working through problems and holes left in the training of most of the young horses I see people ride.

Great Education For Any Rider
Excellent with lots of details. This is a "page at a time" study but well worth the time.

Classical but not a must read
Interesting, technical. Did not enjoy the author's put-downs of Baucher. By the end of the book I was a little bored.

a bible for dressage riders, but really heavy to read
There is not a single picture or drawing in this book. It is a really hard book to read, really tecnical and professional. But if you would like to achieve the perfection of moving with the horse/in the horse like kentaur, the perfection of majestic movements like passage or piaffe, you should really read this book. It reveals, reccomend you how to highly educate your horse gradually and naturally. The author talks about the real collection achieved by gymnastising the horse by exercises such a shoulder-in, renverse, traverse etc. till it comes naturally to a collection and engagement of hindquarters... Recommend for enthusiastic riders willing to read it more than ones.

Excellent book, but be warned it is very technical
Excellent book, but be warned it is very technical. It is the kind of book that one has to re-read over and over as one progresses in riding and understanding of the horse as there are new learnings at every single level.
