This was my first experience with mastic gum. I was happy to try it because of it being more natural and without all the nasty ingredients in common store bought gums. Also, it is supposed to have health benefits (oral and digestive). For anyone who hasn’t tried it and is looking to try it for the first time, please be advised: this is NOT like the common store bought gums. At all. The only thing they really share is that they are chewing gum. That's it.These are definitely firmer (like it seems mastic gums are) it takes a bit of chewing to soften them up. They are chiclet sized pieces. And the gum lasts forever. I mean you can chew and chew and it is not going to break down at all.The issue I have is the minty flavor. It's not just subtle but barely even there. Two minutes, tops, and the flavor is gone. It tastes like I've been chewing it for hours. Or maybe I left it and picked it up again later to chew- like Violet from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” You ever wondered what that was like? Then chew this.I know I’m totally selling it right (said sarcastically). I just don’t want you taken aback like I was. If you want a natural chewing gum you just have to get used to it. I’m working on it. It is definitely taking time. However, at least I don't feel bad about chewing it.

If you are buying this gum thinking that this is regular gum one buys at their local convenience store, think again. This gum is different. Mastic gum is much firmer than your typical gum. It is also purported to have health benefits. I cannot speak to those claims but can speak to the chewing experience. If you are an avid fan of a sturdy gum, this is your brand. The chicklet style pieces are very firm and take a bit of chewing to soften. Even when worked, the gum retains its sturdy texture. The flavor I got is spearmint. I have to say that the flavor is subtle to start and then fades quickly. This is not a strong minty gum like some brands. This is fine for me though. While the flavor does stay around a bit, it does get less noticeable after a short while. I tested with one piece, two, and finally 4 pieces. I think the sweet spot is 2 pieces. I gave a pack to my Greek friend who appreciated the product. He said the flavor was good and suggested I try chewing more than 2 pieces. Overall, this is a decent sturdy and firm gum that retains its form for a long time. Flavor stays around awhile but fades after chewing the first blast of flavor and as you chew the minty flavor is still present in a background role. It seems to settle into that background and stays that way for quite awhile. Pretty good gum.

As an avid gun chewer I have chewed quite the variety of gum. I have been introduced to mastic gum in the past so I’m pretty familiar with this stuff. Right away you get a strong mint smell from the box which is great. The box recommended 2 pieces, I tried chewing with 1 just to see but it wasn’t enough but 2 was indeed perfect. The consistency is exactly like gum but obviously a bit tougher but I will say I’ve had other mastic gum that left my jaw sore but this one could not achieve that soreness I wanted. I would have to say this falls exactly in the middle of your everyday gum and the super tough mastic gum options. The taste is good you get mint flavor right away but it only last about 2 minutes nonetheless you can chew on forever and it won’t dissolve on you. If your starting off on the mastic gum scene then this would be a great option but if you want something tougher then it’s best to look for something else. Nonetheless I think it’s perfect for me, the package is very convenient and I definitely will have to make another order which will be very soon. 9/10!!

They make a version of this without titanium dioxide, which is for a whiter color. I would get that one instead. Exactly the same except for color.

Listing says 20 count of 10 (20x10) pieces. I only received 10 packets with 10 gum pieces. Either the posting is incorrect or I am missing items.
