We use these in our church band. Great value and good quality.

Have good fit for both small and big hands (like mine), very easy to shake and to handle, very fun to use and the black matte color make them look elegant, that said, it doesn’t sound as pro as I woukd like to, their sound is very plasticky, maybe changing whats inside could make a difference. The best sound I got from them is squishing them into my hand as a tight fist.

First off, these bad boys were priced right! I got them for my toddler, who upon being introduced to shakers immediately grabbed both of them with each hand and double shaked away, with a huge smile on her face. She had no problem holding on to them. I'll probably use them as well in a jam-type environment or for recording as they sound great. I've got actual maracas as well and these blow them away. The difference is the distance between the percussive material inside and the wall it hits against. Maracas are usually too big and there is a distinctive lag when you are trying to lock in to the rhythm. Not a problem with these because of their small size. Feels good in the palm and super tight on rhythm.
