Perfect Fit
I am 6'3", 185# and ordered an XL. It was a perfect fit for my athletic build and feels very comfortable. I like that the armor is substantial but not bulky and heavy like some cheaper jackets.

Comfort and quality
Love it. Alpinestars really outdid themselves with the Bionic Tech V2. The quality of the material and the meticulous attention to detail is apparent. I do not like to ride with “leathers”, especially in the summer, but still feel the need for adequate protection. Comfortable, breathable and functional, can’t ask for much more. Of note, I originally bought a large (6ft, 185lbs.) and found it too tight. Returned it for an XL and the fit is perfect. The safety of the jacket is definitely worth the price.

Wow, Now this is the Armor I'm Talking About!
Update Sept 2024: I am dropping a star because while I just love this armored compression shirt, one big drawback is the very poor quality of the velcro (hook & loop) fabric Alpinestars uses in the integrated kidney belt which also is not very wide. The poor quality hook & loop material began failing to adhere after about 25 rides and I never overstretched it nor have I a big belly. I ended up have to go to a seamstress to sew on better velcro type material in order to keep using the V2 Protection jacket. Outside of this I continue to depend on this armor which has served me so well outside of it's issues... I am also just getting around to posting this issue, though it became an issue early on...Update: After a few hundred miles of mixed tarmac & off-road in 90f+ degree summer heat, I can further recommend this armored compression shirt. I was thrilled to find that I had much better air flow thru armor, yet felt very well protected. The armor stayed put thru the roughest terrain and even in a slow get off where I misjudged a slow tight section where soft poofy fine dirt had filled a large hole that I just happened to be shifting direction in - down I went into a tumble - BTW, I weight in at about 200lbs or about 220lb with my summer ADV suit and this armor on... I jumped up, picked my GSA up and continued not the least injured - this brings up an interesting point another top ADV rider once told me, basically, when you wear top quality gear that you feel completely confident in, you tend to naturally stay more relaxed, even in a tumble thus No injury from impact OR from pulled muscles and/or connective tissue - this is the honest truth of it! At a standstill in 90f+ degree temps, I got hot but still felt the honeycomb style armor venting to be vastly superior to my previous CE2 or better heavy compression shirt wearing a Leatt Summer MX style jacket over the armor. Note also that I have worn my heavy ADV suite jacket over this armor and though less movement flexibility, I still found the BT v2 to work well, yet also be comfortable on early morning 45f degree ride with nothing but thin, tight spandex & polyamide, long sleeve compression shirt under the Alpinestars Bionic Tech 2 armored shirt and ADV 4 season jack on top... with one more thermal layer, perhaps also adjust to thermal base layer, I am pretty sure I will be comfortable even into the 30's - quality armor is SO worth the cost (within reason of course) - Safe, enjoyable rides to one and all!initial review: I just received this new Armor Compression Shirt or Jacket if you prefer - I'm a bit of a hardcore ADV rider so I take my 600lb R1200GSA places that many feel is a bit much - consequently I have taken numerous tumbles in the off road but both I and my ride have picked up, dusted off and kept on going... I normally have a lite armor package which is an armored woven shirt that I have equipped elbows, shoulders, back and chest with very specific types of armor - the main goal of this ultra light but protective shirt is light weight with at least CE level 1 or better thus the carefully picked armor - I also have a long distance, heavy armor option that is CE level 2 or better - my old heavy armor compression shirt featured large D30 Shoulders, Elbows and Back Protectors with the back having an extra layer of impact resistance, as well a basic chest protection that was likely not quite CE level 1 but does the job - Enter the new Alpine Stars BT v2 - immediately impressed by some seriously well considered design and engineering! This compression shirt is thin but tough, the armor heavy duty but extremely well ventilated - I do Not know the rating on this but I bet it would be well above CE level 2 were there a standard for such high ventilation. The back protector is really long, roughly below 4th vertebrae to just above tailbone - yeah, looks to give best coverage I've yet seen! The shirt is easy to put on though tight and everything feels to just in the right place. Like all Alpinstar products of this kind, expect to go a size larger than you are, keeping in mind that armor works best when it is pretty tight (obviously not too tight). When you take a tumble, you most certainly do NOT want the inner armor squirming around and away from the critical areas it is supposed to be protecting! I am 6' 1" muscular with less than average body fat - I purchased an XL and found it perfectly met my tightness requirements with little discomfort anywhere, in fact surprisingly comfortable, more so then my well worn Heavy Armor... I really agonized a bit around which shirt to get, I looked at the Leatt models which did also look to be well engineered but in the end I chose this model from Alpinestars... this is also about the same weight as my previous goto Heavy Armor so no concern for me there... Keep in mind that this was likely designed for MX, Enduro, 6 Days, Desert, Hare Scrambles and so on but for us hard core ADV riders, this makes so much sense, especially when we are doing questionable things like exploring outback areas where we do NOT have either cell or GPS signal or perhaps moving along thru a Mountain Pass a bit too rapidly - I know, none of us EVER do these kind of things but it is still worth stating! Bottomline is, I think Alpinestars has hit it on the head, knocked nearly out of the park... As far as durability goes - time will tell but looks engineered pretty well so likely good result expected in that area as well...

Saved me when I crashed!
This is a great protective gear. My husband only received a few bruises when he crashed last weekend. It could have been worse if he didn’t wear one. Great comfort and very flexible.

Runs wayyyy too small
Order 2-3 times your normal size. I’m a size large and XL was wayyy to tight

Not comfortable and Not safe.!
I usually wear Medium so i got the Large one but it was still tight so i had to get the X-Large one instead. If you wear short sleeve shirts and planning to wear this jacket on it than think twice bcs the sleeves makes your arm really itchy. The biggest deal is chest protection keep moving even without getting on the bike such as bending down or simple movements so i cant tell you enough how much it will move up to your neck and throt on the bike.I really had big expectations from this brand and model of the jacket but Alpinestar failed on this one miserably.

Amazing
So the only problem I’ve had is the chest plate kind of presses against my ribs and is uncomfortable, but I mean other than that I love it I don’t feel safe riding without it on
