Superb Performace at an Exceptional Value!
The media could not be loaded. I didn't expect much from a $59 4K NVR but I was blown away! The ease of use and performance was just phenomenal. And there is nothing on Amazon that can touch it for its cost of $59. We installed the Sunba NVR onto our network which already has 16 IP cameras and 3 other NVRs running. Read on for or impressions of the Sunba NVR and watch our attached video. -- NEED TO UPDATE FIRMWARE: To get the be performance from the Sunba NVR you will need to update the firmware. As it arrived from Amazon, I was unimpressed with the user interface and there was no mechanism to automatically check and update the firmware. But an email to Sunba support provided the most current firmware and it made a big improvement in the look and feel of the user interface. See the attached picture for the main page of the user interface. -- EASY TO SETUP: Once connected to the network, I was able to scan the network with the NVR and it found every camera. There are a mix of cameras and resolutions from 4K to 1080P and from bullet to Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras. This is actually the first of many NVRs that I have had that so easily found all the cameras on my network. -- EASY TO INSTALL CAMERAS: Of the cameras found above I was quickly able to select 10 of them to run on the Sunba NVR. In some cases I had to enter the camera password but the Sunba NVR provide the menu to easily enable that and in short order I had a mix of 4K, 5M and 1080P cameras displayed. See the attached picture. -- ZOOM WORKS GREAT: when viewing a camera, it is simple to do a digital zoom by simply using the mouse to create a rectangle around the item of interest and it will expand to that selection. Works very well. -- AUDIO WORKS: For every camera that support audio with an internal mic or an external mic, the NVR presented the audio. -- PTZ WORKS GREAT: Several of the cameras on the network are Pan Tilt Zoom and of various manufacturer but ONVIF compatible and the NVR controls worked smoothly and accurately for every camera. -- FANTASTIC VIDEO FLUIDITY: Using a 4K camera and with the NVR set to emphasis "Quality" vs "Fluidity" the smoothness of the video was impressive. There was not jerkiness or pausing in the video. To demonstrate this I monitored a bee hive with bees swarming about and it is attached. You can see how smooth the entire clip is even at the max resolution of 4K and max frame rate. This video was edited from the NVR recorded video. -- EASY TO INSTALL HARDDRIVE: The 4GB HD was easy to install and the NVR recognized it and did a short format. See attached picture. The could be better: -- ONLY MAX OF 8X FAST FORWARD: The recording playback only provides a maximum of 8X speed. I have another 4K NVR with 256X which I enjoy very much to quickly review a nights footage. The Sunba NVR will require me to manually move across the time line -- SHORT POWER CABLE: The power cord is only 3 ft long. Much too short most installations.

Decent unit
Decent unit, paired it with a Sunba ptz camera. I used a 4 tb harddrive and works good. The mouse seems a bit cheesy cheap and the power cord is way to short.

Sunbatech support
FYI, I bought sunba nvr, cameras and had issues with the password. Robin P. , directer of support, an several other staff were so patient with me, and helpful I can't thank them enough. Robin's staff sent the password, an Robin sent the app, and I was able to resolve the issue very shortly. They made s complicated issue to me, easy to resolve. They were kind, understanding, an patient. I appreciate them all. Robin P. Was great. I thank them. It was the right decision to buy Sumba. Their support is outstanding!

Need a heatsink
These overheat and start acting badly. I have three of them and after a day of use it became clear that their thermal management is terrible. Putting a peal and stick heat sink on the cpu solves the issue and for overkill I soldered a radial fan to the power leads and pointed it across the board.

Difficult to install hard
Only two of the 4 screws line up. Now I need a new drive! Only two screws line up so its missing two additional points. It came out of my old DVR and fit perfectly.Edit: Finally figured out the align and install the drive, but no matter which direction you install the drive, one of the two HDD cables is to short. Left to Right, the power cable isn't long enough. Right to Left the SATA cable is to short. So I had to dig up a longer SATA cable to bring it all together! No thrilled so for!If it performs well, I'll up my rating.

True support
Customer Service Specialist: Lia Y spent a great deal of time, patience, and understanding in an attempt to complete my setup via remote access. It turns out I need a new router. No one could have been more professional in all the time spent. All Sunba equipment I own is top shelf and reliable. I will look for a router the same.
