This things pretty awesome IF you use it right.
The product is advertised as being able to put the food dispenser in the water, don't do this. It will make the food all soggy and water will creep into the food chamber. You can mix all different kinds of food into this. I put freeze dried bloodworms, flake food, pellet food, granule food. Add everything you want to the food chamber then screw it back together, and then shake the food up in the chamber well. This will mix the food up so that theres an even variety of food with every dispense. The fish love it, perfect for fry as long as you use only flake food. For bigger fish this will grind the food up a little too small for them but they will still eat it. For bigger fish just drop flakes or pellets in the tank, the food will be better size for them and they won't have to scramble to find all the little pieces of flake food and pellets. Like I said, great product if you use it right. It will make feeding fish a ton easier.

meh nothing special
its alot bigger than i thought it was going to be, will not work with soft pellets!!! they have to be hard like new life spectrumthe way it crushes the pellets is basically just a metal "diamond cut" rod that plunges through a metal ring.it works well for the most part, but their whole "oh it'll cut down your waste" thats BS you increase amount of waste 20 fold"oh you can get target portion controll feeding"... no not really because you can only stick the tube in about 3 inchesi mean possibly if you turn all your flow off while feeding.would probably be great if all you had was a ton of little fishvarious bite size? not really either it pretty much crushes most of it into a dust (again might be good if you have a ton of little itty bitty fish, i have clowns and gobys and a few others)

needs a better reason
It worked a little, but it is more to clean up. It is nice just don't take it apart unless you know what you did.

Great for nano fish and small fish in general!
To some a product like this may seem useless, but for me it was exactly what I needed! I have a good mixture of small fish and with them being the pickiest eaters I found it quite difficult to find nutritional food that they would eat. Even the 1mm new life spectrum pellets were too big for my fish so I would always find myself smashing it in order for the food to be consumed. This nifty little contraption made me able to use higher quality food and ensure that my fish could eat it. You could even mix different foods to ensure a good balance. My fish seem to already be happier! I highly recommend this for anyone with nano fish or just any small fish in general. I'm getting good use out of it and hope anyone with similar problems can solve them with this grinder.

Great Quality - Helps fill a gap in food size
Great Quality, Great design. This grinds a blend of Marine One and NLS pellets to a very fine level. Works great for some of my very small fish. The grinding action is achieved by a thumb operated plunger that also works as the plug to stop loaded food from coming out. Very happy with the quality.

Not worth the price, doesn’t work very well
Not worth it. First, flakes get stick in the tube, especially if you dip into the water surface. Having to clean this thing is harder than grinding up flakes between my fingers. Then I went to fill it and it popped apart and the spring went flying across the room. I didn’t find it for over a week! There’s gotta be a better solution than this thing!

Grinder fell apart after a month, but worked well in the beginning
** I had to change my review from very positive to negative:After about 4 weeks this grinder broke down. It has threads on plastic (acrylic) part that holds food pellets. You need to unscrew it to put pellets in and then screw it back in to grind. Plastic threads worn out and cannot hold the metal and acrylic parts together. When I start grinding, the unit falls apart and food pellets just fall on the floor. I can kind of hold it together with my hands and make it work, but it is very inconvenient and the pellets still fall out every other time.** I really liked this grinder in the beginning. This is my original review:It works. It grinds fish food pellets into small particles and lets me feed my baby fish that is 3 weeks old.I've had the grinder for 1 day so far. I decided to write a review because it works better than anticipated.Photo shows grinder, brush, holder, original food pellets and result of grinding.
