AVFSteel Adjustable Tilt Low Profile TV Mount for 30" to 80" TVs in Black

Originally I felt like the item was going to be very nice but after having it up on the wall for about 2 months the arm doesn't hold the TV straight anymore. The piece that attaches to the studs in the wall is level and in very sturdy but the extending arm is slowly leaning down and it's an LED tv...not heavy. I purchased two of these mounts for $9.99 each as a lightning deal. I was very skeptical of these mounts since other manufacturers would like to get upwards of $200 for mounts- some which have no tilt capabilities. After hanging both of these today, one for a 58" Samsung and another for a 42" Samsung, I can't imagine having gotten suckered into buying the ultra-expensive mounts- which I almost did when I purchased my 58". After using these mounts, I have realized those expensive mounts are as big as a scam as HDMI cables that sell for >$10! These mounts were very easy to put together, although if you are a novice in handy work, you may feel the directions are lacking. Some tips when mounting, because there is about 3" of clearance from the wall, you will want to note your TV inputs (ex. HDMI 1 and 2). Also for my 42", the plug is removable and once I got the TV on the wall I realized the bracket attached to the TV was right over the plug hole. I was able to maneuver the plug into its hole without removing the TV from the wall and the bracket from the TV, but I would make sure to look to see if you need to plug anything in before attaching the brackets to the TV. Also for the tilt, I would pre-tighten the lock nuts (not too tight) to the angle you estimate you will be setting the TV to. Because there is little clearance from the wall, if you do not have a 10mm socket wrench with an extender, you will be spending a lot of time above and behind the TV trying to tighten the angle down with a standard 10mm wrench. Otherwise, the actual hanging of the TV onto the horizontal bracket attached to the wall was very easy. I would recommend attaching the vertical bracket to the horizontal bracket prior to attaching anything to understand how it works.

i should have bought ten at $9.99 on lightning deal - i could have sold them for at least $30 on ebay...as it is, i bought one and really like it. Getting my TV off the cabinet and "floating" makes our family room look much more finished. this is attached to the back of an entertainment center i'm making meaning i could build in hidden races for cablingi'll be uploading pics as wellPros: - solid construction - even with a very heavy 52" LCD TV attached, everything is solid, no sagging or bouncing - included bolts for attaching brackets to TV were the right size and seem high qualityCons: - the idea of being able to tilt once installed doesn't work for me - i think it's because my TV is an early LCD and thick and HEAVY - maybe a more recent LCD or LED TV or a smaller TV would allow for at-will tilting, but i had to tighten the nuts fully once it was tilted to the position i liked - with the bracket attached as high as possible on my TV the center point of the brackets (the pivot axis) is below the center of my TV by a good 2 inches - the included hollow wall connectors are scary - i would only install this into studs - i was lucky that i am making my entertainment center so i was able to beef up the back and screw into solid wood. - I ended up using lag screws and had to ream out the mounting holes - not a big negative, but if i designed it the holes would have been bigger... all these cons are not enough to reduce this from 5 stars - great product, buy it, take your time installing and you should be happy with it
