Too fragile to be shipped? Or just TOO fragile!
OK, I read the reviews , like I always do, and despite seeing some people describe these as cheap and fragile and arrived broken I decided to buy three of them. The price, at 28.00 bucks seemed like a lot but because it was the Autoart brand I went for it. Although the three shipped in a box that fit snugly on five sides and was padded with air pillows to fill the empty space at the top, two of the three plastic display boxes arrived broken. One had a small corner piece broken off, the other had a broken corner and a crack about two to three inches long. I noticed the big crack before I attempted to remove the case from the stock Autoart paper box and plastic bag and found that the plastic used for making the display case was SO brittle that I made the crack worse just removing it from the package. Other reviewers mention that there were marks on the base for making holes in order to wire your model securely in place but mine do not have them. The clear plastic top only sits atop the base and is not held in place very well by friction or any other means so moving the case for cleaning or any other purpose is inviting disaster. Disaster for your model surely and an almost inevitable problem for the very very fragile plastic display material. I am considering using Scotch tape to fasten the top to the base so that my cleaning lady does not inadvertently drop or break either the case or my precious models. I am thinking though that taping to this cheap plastic material may cause discoloration over time. If I had held this product in my hand at a brick and mortar store, and for the price, I would not have bought it. I think that if anyone is considering these display cases that they should try and find them in a physical store, not an option for myself, and thoroughly inspect them before purchasing them. I am not going to try and return my broken products, I will try and glue the worst crack to prevent it from spreading and place the flaws where they are not so obvious, as I think they are just too fragile to be shipped via UPS. I might add that there was NO markings on the shipping box marking the contents as fragile and there really should have been.

Almost perfect case
This is a must have for anyone who collects expensive 1/18 scale models. If you’re spending $200+ on a fully detailed model you should be thinking of protecting them from dust and sunlight. These cases are the perfect size. No fancy frills or extras to take away from your models. The only things that could improve them would be a locking mechanism and printed or preset hole positions if you want to mount your models. The lock part I take care of with strategically placed painters tape. As for the preset holes for mounting I realize that’s probably unlikely given how many variations they would need to account for. Overall a quality case and a must have for serious collectors.

idk about this one
it is kind of cheap. i wasn't expecting wood and glass but for 30 bucks a little thickness to the plastic at least. and the clear lid is so cheap... i had to return this because it cracked during the shipping. this should be more around 12 dollar range i would think not 30. it looks nice but just idk maybe this type of thing is normal iv never bought or needed one of these but i got a special 1970s remote control car thats been in the family for many years and i wanted to get a case for it and this is just cheap lol looks nice but i guess just be cautious if you're looking for something well built to a certain degree.

Doesn't Fit AutoArt 1:18 Mounted Cars
The case, although fully enclosed in a box with no styrofoam or packing material, arrived with scratches and marks in it that would need to be polished out, and the bottom corner was chipped due to lack of packing material. The clear top is clear (sans the scratches), but very thin and brittle. The base is black plastic with an nice angle to it.The clear top does not fit a base from an Autoart 1:18 scale car. I have special cars with model designations printed on the base (from Autoart) and the lid does not fit them, which will require me to unmount my cars from their special bases and set them on top of this base (which is unacceptable to me). This is fine for loose 1:18 cars, except for the breakage and scratches.

Inexpensive but pretty nice...
Ok, so not perfect, but it was a really good value. It comes on a nice fitting black base, and a crystal clear top. This is an important feature as many of the cheap cases have a cloudy or foggy top making them an awful option for displaying an important item. The top fite nicely, and overall I am really pleased. I recommend!

This display case did fit the Bigfoot monster truck model ...
This display case did fit the Bigfoot monster truck model but just barely. The tires rub the sides but it isn't visually noticeable.

great idea for displaying your cars
this is one of the best ideas i've seen in a while, these are pretty inexpensive for what they are,and there stackable too.my only complaint would bethat the bottoms should be clear,so that the light is roughly the same for the car underneith.
