It does what it's supposed to do.... but I definitely did NOT read the description. This only works for a few metals, I was trying to make a 3 tone chain and found out it doesn't work on gold. 😬 Anyways, it does work with other metals.... but I don't use those, so I guess I'll be plating some random things around the house.

I purchased this to give it a try despite the poor reviews. I should have listened to the reviews. This stuff absolutely doesn't work. The manufacturer claims it works o copper, and maybe it does if you want to silver coat some of your pennies, but in all practically, it is not useful for much else. I have tried this on several different pieces with no success. I have a silver plated serving tray that is silver on copper. Some of the silver is worn off from years of polishing, showing the pinkish copper below. When applying this product, it did nothing to cover the copper. Very dissatisfied with this product and certainly would not purchase again. Save your money as this stuff is somewhat expensive. It doesn't work.

I tarnished a ring of mine after I exposed it to sulfur soap and it turned black. I only used a few drops of this solution and the ring is shiny as new. I also used it to shine some other dulled silver jewelry I own and the results are wonderful. Easy to apply and works instantly!

I had a silver bracelet that was turning brassy around the ends. Used this product according to directions and it worked! Haven't any clue how long it will last but easily repeated if necessary. So happy and glad this was available.1/28/25- I have discovered while this works immediately it does not last more than one wearing. Repeating each time I want to use my bracelet (I did discover my bracelet is silver-plated). A sterling silver bracelet only requires a polishing cloth to keep it shiny however.

I stripped the polish from my silver jewelry a few days ago in attempting to clean them after my mother had given me the two bracelets and ring. In looking at how to restore them, I came across this plating solution. While it does seem somewhat expensive, it's certainly less so than replacing these pieces (the James Avery necklace alone goes for $185), and also less expensive than buying the equipment to electroplate. I didn't even consider taking these to a jeweler because I knew that would cost nearly as much as getting the equipment and materials to do it myself.I went somewhat heavy on the solution based on reviews saying it didn't last. I also plan to allow these time to sit out before wearing them in hopes that helps with longevity.I'm fairly pleased with my purchase, but I'll come back here and update if the product does seem like it has weak adhesion. I don't wear silver as much as gold, so I think that will also help allow the product time to cure (since it is starting wet, after all).

It looks gorgeous and it’s an easy application. However my jewelry stayed silver only for a few days of wear.

I must admit I was really skepitcal about purchasing this product but there were a lot of positive reviews so gave it a shot. It did exactly what it was supposed to do with a little elbow grease...it brought back to life my silver plated jewelry that lost it's color. I'm sorry I didn't take a before pic of the flower necklace but I can attest that most of the silver was worn off and became coppery. As you see, it's back to it's beautiful silvery self!

This product does not work as it is advertised, I rated 1 star only because I could not rate it as a 0. I attempted to silverplate my solid brass Zippo but was unable to get it to work properly despite following all instructions listed on bottle. I’ve used almost the entire bottle and am still unable to get the entire lighter plated. Would not recommend this product for the price I paid I could have just purchased an antique silver plated Zippo.
