awesome
These work great to prevent teeth grinding while sleeping. They are durable with soft flexible rubber. As comfortable as a mouth guard can be. I tried a custom fit mouth guard once for $130+ and my back molars would still touch. Not a problem with this mouth guard. I can really bite down and chew on this with no problem if I wake up in the middle of the night stressed out about something. It does hold my mouth ajar a little bit, a natural spacing I would say. I bought a lot of these for the future as this is one of those little things that is going to be a big thing if its discontinued.

Good fit, low profile.
Lost my old brain pad mouthpiece and needed to replace it. Went with this version. It definitely feels a bit smaller than most of the double mouthguards I'm used to. Which hasn't been a bad thing so far. It still seems to offer adequate protection of the teeth, but isn't jammed up and down into your gums as far.Molded easily enough and quickly. The only problem I have with the piece so far is that the guard that keeps the breathing holes open when you mold the mouthpiece, doesn't fill in the entire hole. So, the holes get crunched down on the sides when you are biting to mold the piece. This makes for much smaller breathing holes over all.Other than that, no issues. Purchased for use in grappling/Jiu jitsu.

Very, very good for nocturnal epileptic seizures
I have Epilepsy. Most of my seizures happen at night. I started using mouth guards because when I would wake up, the inside of my bottom lip and my tongue would be chewed and bruised soooo badly. There were a few times where I almost bit thru the inside of my bottom lip. The damage made it very difficult to eat. I had to be careful not to have anything I ate touch the damage because it would cause some bleeding not to mention the pain. This mouth guard is fantastic. I had to boil it and It fits my lower and upper teeth very well. My husband and I can still tell when I’ve had a seizure because of how I’m feeling when I wake up, and because my jaws would hurt due to the clenching. But it is a relief to know that my lip and my tongue are no longer damaged. I highly recommend this mouth guard for people who have nocturnal epileptic seizures.

Bought as a night guard
I bought this as a bruxism guard, as I grind my teeth at night. I followed all the steps for getting the custom fit (boiling water, create vacuum in mouth to mold around teeth, etc), there were no issues with that.My problem is that it doesn't really work for me as a night guard. When I grind my teeth at night, my bottom jaw moves in and out. As this unit is all one piece, that means that pressure is being placed on my teeth from the conflicting positions of my clenched upper and lower jaw. I would wake up and my neck pain and headaches would be less (it works in that regard), but my teeth would hurt and feel like I'd been pushing on them all night. Rather painful and not helpful, considering that I'm bought this as my grinding is causing gum recession. I've purchased a new mouth guard that allows for the free movement of my jaw.I imagine that this guard is meant more for sports activities, in which I can't see it causing any problems. It allows enough air through to breathe comfortably and the fit is nice and secure.

Not a good fit unless you are a huge person
As a sleep aid this thing is way too big. Even for use as a protective mouth piece with adjustments it is just overall very uncomfortable. I would recommend looking for other products as this for overnight bite protection is not going to be the right piece. I can't speak to it's use as a sports guard but the discomfort on my gums would not even warrant my using it for a sport.

Brain-Pad mouth piece used as an anti-snoring device
Apparently, this is designed for a sports mouthpiece but it works perfectly for an anti-snoring device! I'm SO GLAD I bought this. I joke that I haven't had a good nights sleep since I got married but this little device has solved that problem. I don't know if any sports mouth piece will work or not. This particular one has a bottom and top piece that are connected but has an air space between to allow for air flow. I believe this works better than the regular one piece ones because of that and also because it holds the bottom jaw in place. Just my speculation though. I don't know why it works, I just know that it does. HALLELUJAH!

Way too thick
This is not the mouth guard I was hoping for. I had to trim it as I have a small mouth. There's NO WAY scissors are going to cut the ends. I had to use an Exacto knife. Even after that, it was still incredibly bulky in my mouth. Only with effort could I barely close my mouth. Then I boiled it for less than 30 seconds. To my surprise, the rear edges all melted away. They were just gone! Completely unusable. Maybe it would have worked with 20 seconds of water, but I'll never know.

Best mouthguard out there
Research has shown that these brain-pad mouthguards prevent some concussion side effects to some extent. Thankfully haven't had the opportunity to find out -- don't mind if we never do. They last the football season, depending on how much the child uses this as a chew toy during practice. This year we had to purchase two. Amazon always has a great price. These are easy to fit - our 12 year old can do it alone and do it correctly. The instructions are clear and the material is great. Protects upper and lower teeth and does not hurt the gums. My child wears an adult size and has to trim about 1/2 inch off each end for a perfect fit. The lanyard is great and never comes apart without great force, so no worries there, and we've never really had to use the case because after football season, we toss and purchase a new one.

Excellent mouthguard
The Brain-Pad is such a good idea if you have shallow teeth and find that most mouth guards cut into your gums. The moulding process is without doubt the best i have come across and I have used many mouth guards before settling on this on. The science blurb basically states that having the guard cover both sides of your teeth means any impact will be taken away from your brain (nice to know). What I can tell you is it feels very secure and for amateur boxing it's a great choice to get started, the air channels really feed air directly into your windpipe and best of all it's easy to clean!Overall you can't really go wrong with this unless you have very tall teeth because I don't think this model would suit you, it even has a strap for all those budding american football players or probably even ice hockey players.

Very good double mouthguard
I have previously used a double mouthguard from the same manufacturer. However it was not available anymore so I tried this one and found it to be a good as the previous.
