Handpresso Travel Case

Espresso while backpacking. Loved it. It does take a looooooong time to prepare. If you have time and the leisure to wait an hour to drink it (we roasted our beans over fire as well) you will not be disappointed. With 4 people and all the water you have to use to prime and clean it between uses it is a huge time waster...but then if you want good espresso on a hike you probably knew that would happen.

This thing works great. I use the pods. With them clean up is a quick rinse with no mess. About the only down side is that it isn't as hot as regular espresso. I fix that by putting it in the microwave for about 25 seconds after I add some creamer.

The carrying case is a great addition to my Handpresso. I've found that it holds the espresso machine, a Ziploc baggie with a few ESE pods, andThere's only one catch: the TSA does not know that it is a case holding an espresso machine. So it gives me endless trouble.I have always been given some grief by the TSA for traveling with my Handpresso. But it's never been a real stumbling block when I travel with it case-less, because the agent simply pulls out the machine, marvels at it a little, and then puts it back.But with the case on board that is all obscured. Maybe they're concerned it's holding a bizarrely-shaped gun or something. I had to provide an actual demonstration for an inquiring agent in Hartford in order to keep my espresso machine with me!Also of note is that the zipper is absolutely terrible. It can't be easy making a zipper follow a strange track like this, but the spot on the case where the zipper needs to curve outward about 85 degrees is a very difficult place to continue the pull.

I bought the handpresso as a gift for my boyfriend's birthday last spring. The thing is amazing. It is fast and easy and makes better espresso than his father's huge countertop machine! The only problem was that it was a little un-portable in the box it came with. I purchased this case and the only problem with our favorite thing was resolved! It is easily packed now and is still protected.

I have a handlresso that comes with a case that houses demitasse cups, napkins, spoons, and a thermo container. Too bulky for my travels and required something that would protect my Handpresso in my carry on bags. Perfecto!

Best inteligent case ever. It freaked me out a little when I first opened the ziper of it. It's way to curvy... It kind of doesn't seem like is going to work. But you learn how to deal with it. The material has quite good quality. I'm happy with my purchase.

The significant discount on the Handpresso and its case made this an impulse purchase.It should be hard to get a case 'wrong' - one could question its usefulness when the Handpresso could just as easily be protected in luggage by being wrapped in clothing or similar instead, but a case is a case. The unfortunate thing is that this case tends to take about a minute to open or close, simply because it is next to impossible to pull the zip around from the long handle part to the bulbous end. The zip doesn't want to move around this concave section and every time you try to open or close the case it feels like an unreasonable amount of force is needed, to the point that I'm surprised I haven't broken the zip already.**UPDATE -- after a few months of use, this case is becoming ever easier to open and close. It's still a bit awkward, but with a bit of tugging it opens quickly enough every time and I haven't managed to break it yet.

Love the handpresso, but steer clear of this travelling case , zip broke in under two weeks !
