Good for motorcycles. Not good for Vespa.
This does appear to be a good quality carrier, but I had to return it, because I could not safely use this with my Vespa. The back half of the Vespa scooters are fairly wide. There is no way to secure the scooter from the rear, because the tie down straps would run against the body of the scooter. The tie down attachment points for this carrier are in the middle of the carrier. Had the tie down points been located at each end of the carrier, it would have worked better. Also, the smaller wheel size of the Vespas does not allow you to use the safety pin, which is supposed to go through the wheel to secure the wheels to the rail of the carrier.Bottom line: Yes, this is a good carrier for a motorcycle. Not recommended for a Vespa.

Terrible product - almost ruined my scooters tire!
Terrible design. Almost destroyed my scooter's front tire! Assembled carrier and the metal tubing was so thin it bent the washers and tubes when tightened! Immediately lost confidence it would hold my scooter very solidly. Did a test mount on an SUV before mounting to my RV and found way too much movement between the carrier and receiver. The carrier wobbled by over 2" from end-to-end. Way too much movement! The worst part was when I loaded the scooter the front tire wedged in the center cradle assembly against 8 bolt shanks. Completely wedged and stuck. Wouldn't budge. This is a modest sized piaggio 250 scooter - not a motorcycle. Took 2 other people to help me lift the front tire of the scooter back out of the cradle while balancing the scooter and backing it out on the rear tire. The front tire ended up with deep scrapes and gouges. Very frustrating! Terrible design to have screws facing the tires.

The instructions for assembly are vague.
I had to refer to the pictures on the box it came with in order to understand how it was supposed look. The instructions were difficult. It lacks anything regarding how to tiedown and tire sizes that are acceptable, my ride has a fat tire ?

Works as expected and easy to put together
I was pleased with how easy it was to put together. Took about 30 minutes and was very straightforward. Easy to install on the truck too. Very sturdy. I loaded my dual sport bike on the back, 300 pounds, and took it on a four hour drive with no issues. My only complaint is that it doesn't have anything to attach the tie-down to on the side away from the truck. I ended up leaning the bike against the back of my SUV when securing it down.

NOT FOR HONDA PCX150 Scooter
CAUTION: Regardless of what you read concerning what brands will work with this carrier - IT WILL NOT FIT A HONDA PCX150 !!! The raised areas in the middle interfere with the bottom skid plate and will not allow the front tire to drop into the tire support. We bought this to haul on a motorhome, but later found out, because of the extra swaying and bouncing at the back of the motorhome, it is not recommended to be used with motorhomes.

Main carrier tube too thin and weak for my setup. Failed in use.
I bought one of these (although not here) and I would not do so again.I used it on the back of my travel trailer because it was advertised for use on a vehicle or motorhome. Technically my RV is a fifth wheel and not a motorhome so maybe it bounces more than a motorhome. However after only 1 1/2 trips between Oklahoma and Colorado the main tube that fits in the receiver fatigued and broke. I used a hitch clamp B0068D9L6W to keep the thing from shifting and rattling to minimize any movements. The problem appears to me to have been caused from the fact that the main tube is made out of fairly thin steel. If I was to use an off the shelf carrier again I would make sure that the tube was 1/4" wall or even solid bar like some of the hitch parts Curt MFG sells. My motorcycle lists as weighing 270lbs (2012 Yamaha wr450f) so I was way under the load capacity for the thing.I decided none of these type of carriers is very good for an RV (most say don't use on an RV). I am having my RV hitch modified by welding on an additional 2 Curt mfg. part #49120 receivers towards the ends and having a custom carrier built that slides into at least 2 of the available receivers and probably all 3 to distribute the weight and keep the thing from flopping around. I would maybe use this style of carrier on a car or 1/2 ton truck, but probably not on a 3/4 or 1 ton one where the suspension is much firmer. But no matter what I would make sure the main carrier tube is better than this one.The good news is my carrier broke before I pulled out of the campsite when I was leaving the campground. I forgot to take one of the yellow plastic wheel chocks out from in front of the trailer wheel and when the RV rolled over the top of it and came down it snapped the carrier. Way better than being on the highway going 65 and hitting a pothole!Anyway I included a picture of the fix a welder did for me in Creede CO because I could not locate a replacement one and didn't want to haul a utility trailer behind my RV. My only other option was to rent a storage unit or leave the bike somewhere until I could get back and pick it up. I watched it with my RV backup camera all the way back home and had the whole mess tied to the RV ladder just in case. What a disaster.

Solid and impressive.
More than I expected for the price. Fits the 4.5 inch fat tires on my E-bike. Perfectly placed tie down points. I never worry that my very expensive E-bike will get damaged going over some very rough roads. Worth every penny.

Awesome product well thought out and simple
Awesome product well thought out and simple. Plan to put an xt250 on back of rv and was easy to assembly. Bolts don't have strength grading will carry a couple spares just in case. Other then that well built and painted. Very Happy with product.
