Great for dogs that hate nail clipping
My vet's office stopped doing nail grooming during this time so I needed a better alternative to regular nail clippers. Normally it took 3-4 people to hold my dog during her nail trims. I hated trimming her nails at home because she's very wiggly and howls non-stop when she even sees the clippers. This nail dremel has been amazing! It's pretty quiet so she doesn't even mind the slight humming sound it makes. It files the nails down pretty quickly too, and unlike clippers it doesn't cause nail splintering. It's also got a metal head on it instead of sand paper, so you don't need to replace it, only clean it.Now for the negatives. This doesn't really hold a charge long. I charged it 6+ hours and it only lasted maybe five minutes. I use it plugged in now to overcome this issue. The second negative is that you can only file for a few seconds before the nail gets hot. So I file one nail for 3 or 4 seconds, then move onto the other nails and then start at the beginning again. The third negative is the the guard on here is pretty thick. If your dog has longer nails or nails that curl it might cause a problem. On her curly nails it was only able to file the front part, and caused a skinny long point in the back of the nail by the toe pad. I ended up just clipping it off when she wasn't looking. So I'm keeping her curved nails shorter now so I can angle this dremel better without risking touching her pad.I'm very happy with my purchase though. Now it only takes two people to do her nails and she's pretty calm during her pedicure. It's also saving me money as my vet was charging $18 per trim and her nails grow so fast that I took her every one and half to two weeks.I would have given this five stars if its battery lasted longer than five minutes, but I'm still thrilled with how well this files her nails.

QUIET!
I was skeptical of this little unit. Been using another popular brand that uses sand paper and was happy with it despite the noise and the rate at which it uses up the sand paper rolls. This unit grinds with a fine, rough metal grinding wheel. There are two cutouts in the plastic cover (not sure how durable that will be or if it's even a concern) for the nail...one is a rather small area that just fit the tips of the 80 lb lab's nails I was grinding...the other larger area I used for smoothing out the rough spots. This unit is very quiet which definitely reduces anxiety of the dogs.It is easy to use and light weight.I just used my Android phone charger to charge. It charges quickly. My only con so far is that I don't see where the grinding wheel can be replaced.

Totally worth it
My dog and I are both very pleased with this product. The last nail grinder I had their was no protection from the grinder so one wrong move or slip and the grinder would be halfway up my poor little dogs nail. Plus, the grinder would slowly come lose and without any warning spin apart. My dog hated the noise, most of my time was spent trying to calm him down even let me near the nail, and doing his back nails was nearly impossible.Thankfully this grinder is quieter, has a plastic cap that reduces the risk of accidents, and has made my life so much easier. Now, instead of spend two or three minutes trying to calm my dog down in order to trim one nail, I get the entire paw done, and sometimes two. My dog has been far more relaxed with this machine, and is even allowing me to trim his back nails.I am so glad that I brought this product. It has definitely made my life easier and my little dog much happier.

Easy for first time users like myself!!
So, with this whole Covid19 thing, my dog cant go to the groomers to get his nail trim/grinding. He started scratching his face and with his longer nails, it definitely made a wound :( Ugh! Well, I did some research and read reviews and watched some youTube videos on how to trim or grind a dog's nails. I decided on the grinder, so I could go slow if I needed to. I decided to buy this nail grinder because of the reviews and because others would take longer to arrive... I was desperate! When it came, I got him used to the sound and smell of it (turned it on and off around him) as suggested in some YouTube videos I watched.... I decided to do his front paws first. He held still and let me do them!! I was so ecstatic! I did a little bit and would pause and a little bit more... it really didn't take long and was easier than I expected. The grinder was so quiet and less intimidating than I thought. It was very easy to use. My dog is a "JUG" and he is about 12 lbs with tiny nails. I'm so happy with this grinder.... so I'm leaving a review because I know those are so important (I read them a lot before buying anything). Good luck!!

It's slow, but by design... it's very low impact with no drama.
This thing is the best grinding nail trimmer I've ever used. Its slow but it is so low impact that my dog barely noticed I was doing his nails. Took about 20 mins to get through them all but with zero fuss and no stress. It's so well designed (online pettypaws thing) that the nails can hardly bounce around. There is very little clearance for the nails to get pulled in for a "surprise" jitter/bounce which the dog equates to nail cutting. Be patient with it...if you stress about the nail cutting really bad like I do to the point of neglect, buy this. If your dog tolerates clippers, go get a set, they are way faster. When I cut his nails with a clipper I worry about giving him a heart attack. If that's you....BUY THIS.

Just what I needed!
We’ve had this since Jan, 2021. I read lots of reviews for several different brands, I was just looking for a cheap nail grinder. I have 3 dogs, 2 tiny chihuahuas and an 80lb mix. We have a Dremel, and I love this grinder way more. It vibrates lower so it’s much quieter. I think I’ve used it on high each time and I’m impressed with the low noise. Their nails don’t get really hot with this grinding head, so I can get each nail done quickly. Other reviewers have said it takes too long, you do need to apply pressure when your grinding. But that’s for any nail trimmer. It’s not auto-trimming. ;) It grinds quickly and efficiently for me. And seems to hold a charge forever, I’ve never run out of power. And it looks sleek, too.

Easy to use
Works great on small dogs, even slightly stubborn ones as they grind fast!
