GREAT KNIFE

this is a nice knife for the cost, but very hard to operate even with the assist. i went through a few before i got a couple that were o.k. there a 4 colors and most of the time i get a set. was not able to do that with this item. if i knew before i would not have bothered.

This is great, came sharp enough to use and very easy to sharpen and keep the blade so. I have to say tho, THIS IS A KNIFE THAT OPENS ONE HANDED!!! all I did, was put a touch of lubricant on the hinge, u simply hold the lock back, while keeping the knife tightly in your hand and fingers out of way of the blades path of travel from closed to open, and simply flick it out. It works for me every time and after a little practise I think most people can do it, including my girlfriend!!!! And I can open it one handed using left or right hand. So I'm well pleased with it, it locks nice and tight too, and even with two handed use it's smooth. Still early days but it seems robust enough and the blade has a solid feel to it. I don't recommend much, but in this case I'm genuinely more that satisfied with this product, delivery was quick and checked it was going to an adult. Great respect for that, the delivery speed and of course the product itself.

MANY KNIVES CLAIM TO BE ONE HANDED OPENING BUT DON’T DELIVER; I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THIS ONE DOES. WHETHER IT IS A PACKAGING FEATURE OR OTHERWISE, IT COMES WITH A RUBBERISED BLADE TIP COVER. THE LOCKING WHEEL IS SMOOTH TO USE. NO TRYING TO GET YOUR HAND INTO AN AWKWARD POSITION TO OPERATE IT. THIS BEAUTIFUL KNIFE SITS IN YOUR HAND AS IF IT WAS PERFECTLY DESIGNED TO BE THERE, WHICH I GUESS IT WAS. ACCUSHARP YOU GOT IT SPOT ON. OH! AND IT LOCKS IN THE OPEN AND CLOSED POSITION. THE ONE HANDED OPENING IS BETTER SUITED TO RIGHT HANDED PEOPLE BUT CAN EASILY BE DONE BY BOTH LEFT OR RIGHT HANDED FOLK. RECOMMEND IT ? OH YES.

Positive: The knife is fairly sturdy and locks very securely. It can be flicked open with a little practice once it has loosened up a littleNegative: Out of the box the knife would not cut paper cleanly and was hopeless on cardboard. The packaging does not state what the grind angle of the bevel was. It is hard to judge between 20 or 17 degrees by looking. There were considerable tool marks on the bevel. I used a Lansky sharpening system to polish and sharpen at 20 degrees, but whilst improved, the blade was still not very sharp. I then laboriously reground and polished at 17 degrees which did the trick. The blade is now decently sharp.This is quite a nice knife for the money if you have the ability and patience to sharpen it properly.
