Excellent product for price
I am a sailor. I have used my knife in the Caribbean for years. It has not rusted (I do clean and oil regularly). Once I had to go underwater to cut some line away from my propeller. The serrated blade cut through it and the pliers helped in removing it.The grip is large enough so that you have a steady platform while using it.The pick on the knife is strong. I have used it multiple times to undue stubborn knots and tight shackle pins etc.You will not regret buying this knife.

High Quality
Very Good ToolI've noticed that everyone is talking about the pliers for shackles but no one mentions how good they are at assisting the spike for unjamming knots.drm

Nice knife!
Good materials, good fit of parts and good fit in my hand. Cutting blade is single edged and well polished. Opens and closes well, locks with confidence. Everything is centered and well done for a knife of this price. My only “meh” is the finish of the aluminum-it reminds me of a Christmas ornament. They do make the same knife with different handles, I would likely prefer blue or red. Happy with this knife!

absolutely best knife ive ever owned
Ive had his for a couple months now, absolutely best knife ive ever owned, comes insanelyyyy sharp right out of the box (passes the paper test no problem) looks great, feels great, works amazing, quick and easy to use, stainless steel and 1 handed action. Makes rigging so much faster and helps with many problems on the water. Only problem ive had with it is that when clipped to my pants the pliers part dug into my skin leaving a scar thats still there bout 2 months later. Also i accidently knocked it off the table while cutting some tape and the very tip bended. I ended up just breaking it off with some pliers cause at least it will still cut. But those are not problems in the knife and my own personal mistakes. The knife wont dig jnto ur skin unless ur doing lots of movement and action.

awesome rigging knife. sharp hook though
i got one of these about 15 years ago and used the heck out of it, eventually i lost it durring one move or another, but the new one looks just as good as my old one did.only complant is that the marlin spike is very sharp! my old one had a nice rounded tip, this one is so sharp i wouldnt want to use it on any looser bound ropes like spectra or vectran before i smooth it down a bit.

GREAT IDEAS from some Engineer
There are 2 very tiny screws on the body that hold the clip to the knife. Also the tiny screws that hold the knife together. Without access to a phone number for warranty this item cannot be sent back for repairs. I have avid sailing skills and have repaired the device so it will function 'using caution'. I would not take it to sea for survival needs. Also with no pocket clip when you lower the device into a pocket It 'will' come open and reaching in is / could cause serious safety issues. Cut off a finger. GREAT IDEAS from some Engineer. NOT WELL THOUGHT OUT> a The tang (chained end) should have been on the other end. The blade needs an additional locking device for pocket carry. Good luck Otherwise Very impressive looking. Just needs better design work.

Perfect for an arborist!
I bought one of these in March of 2016 and it is one of my favorite Amazon purchases. I do tree work, and this is the perfect knife to keep on my saddle while climbing. Pliers are for shackle pins (we use a lot of shackles for rigging and climbing setups) and the marling spike can't be beat for getting a stubborn knot out of the ropes when they get heavily shock loaded. The drop point blade is easy to sharpen, stays sharp for a very long time. Great product!

Strong well made w/OK finish/ fit.
The fit and finish isnt quite as smooth as other myerchin products I have seen but still better than any of the other offerings. If you are looking for a rigging tool that won't break the bank but is decently manufactured this one is a good choice. Like the liner lock feature on the marlinspike, its a big improvement over the lanyard ring locking mechanism on earlier models of myerchin knives.
