Works great and good visibility, I bought this for my sister as she is also my postal carrier and delivers the mail in her personal vehicle. The light she had been using was dim during the day and I bought this to help ensure she is seen while out delivering the mail and get other drivers attention.It works great, has a momentary switch on the power plug that allows the user to flick through different "flash patterns" to suit your needs. When switched off and then the next time when turned on the same flash pattern is operating so you do not have to reset it everytime.You can buy cheaper lights but you get what you pay for, after seeing this in action, I prefer LED's over strobes and halogen rotating lights of the past.UPDATE: as of 22APR2023 this LED light is still working as it did the day it was new. The light gets used 5-6 days a week 6-8 hours a day and has worked flawlessly for going on 8 years (originally purchased in MAY2015)

I originally bought this because the reviews said it was bright, Many of these smaller lights especially the LED's are hard to see in daylight. I am also familiar with the Whelen Brand, which I have never herd anything bad about, in fact I believe they are American made. This bar was everything we needed and more. It is very bight, and is effective in direct sunlight. The magnets are Crazy Strong, we have lost beacon lights before to being blown off the roof and I am confident this will never happen with this light. in fact its difficult to get off once its in place, this is a huge improvement over previous brands. It also has more patterns than you will probably ever use. I liked the first one so much I ended up buying a second. they have both been in use on construction pickups for a heavy civil contractor for about a year now without any issue. my only complaint is the cord is a little on the short side, but this can be fixed with a cigarette lighter extension cord or hardwiring. This is not a deal breaker, for competitive lights more expensive than this one have no cord at all.Update 9-20-2016 with almost a complete second season in use these lights are still holding up well. one of the cigarette lighter plugs broke, I personally think it got stepped on but no one admitted to that. No big deal, I hardwired it and it is still functioning just fine. I am updating my review because I am back to buy a third one, we have had another failure with the one of the other Halogen style lights. I highly recommend these!

Compact, Lightweight, and BRIGHT. Class 1 rated so good visibility even in bright daylight. Strong magnets hold securely, I applied clear packing tape to magnets and roof to protect paint. 10' cord should be 12' to reach when mounted on 4 door crew cab at rear of roof. I use an extension cord to make it reach the extra 2', purchased extension cord same time as light.

Works well, very bright. Cord is plenty long for a regular cab truck. Use the strobe setting that just cycles through all of them.

The construction company I work for buys crap el cheapo lights for the trucks. The one I had was barely visible in daytime. I replaced the crappy light with the Whelen and there is a huge difference. Does it cost more? Yes. Is it worth it? very much so.

Very bright, perfect for use while plowing snow in New England. Easy to install and then store out of site behind the truck seat when not in use.
