this LN had a slow star but is because the history is pretty good and deep(a lot of lore) yeah this LN has a lot of info of magic an more(lore of old magic and lore of the original word magic Modern) the MC is pretty bad ass but is not god you will see this in the next vol I really read this before en the deep web(trans fnasub haha) and is amazing, a lot of new characters, cute girl with good background past and i good plot twist. is cheap soo buy it and try a few vols

First off, let's start with the good aspects of this light novel.1) The writing and translation is well done. It honestly feels like it was written by a person who speaks English as a native language.2) The world building is good. This volume focuses more on the world building rather than on pushing the story forward. With that said, the author keeps the reader engaged by mixing the world building into the actual story. This keeps the "educational" aspect entertaining while giving the author leeway to manipulate the "mechanics" of the world later.3) While some characters do feel a little one dimensional, I was glad to see some of them get fleshed out a bit more. The interactions between the MC and his friends provide a good look into each of their personalities, while leaving room for growth.Now, for the negative aspects.1) Not much happens and this due to the attention to detail, abundant conversations, and internal monologues. An entire volume goes by and the MC is only leaving the castle now? It feels like some of this could have just been narrated past, so that we can focus on the action. However, this issue only exists because of all of the positive things I mentioned before. So, you just gotta take the good with the bad and enjoy it for what it is.2) A lot of characters feel one dimensional. This issue isn't so bad, for now. Since it is the first volume, we can't expect there to be a plethora of fleshed out characters. Hopefully, we will get to see the existing characters grow and more interesting characters be introduced.In conclusion, I'd recommend this story to others who like a slow moving story with an OP protagonist.

This book takes the common trope of "The Summoned Hero" and flips it on its head. In this case, instead of becoming OP by being Summoned, our MC was already OP. He is Summoned, along with two friends who are unaware of his secret identity or his superpowers. They DO get Powers as a result of being Summoned, and they happily jump into saving this world. Meantime, our MC is doing a "Clark Kent" strategy and letting the locals totally underestimate him.

A good story for a start, a nice twist on a recurrent plot but good enough to keep reading till the end. Looking forward for the second book in this serie.

There is a category of light novels that are fairly formulaic: The main character ends up in fantasy world, typically after their untimely death but sometimes being summoned or just blundering into it. In this new world, they find themselves ridiculously powerful for some supernatural reason, and go on to have a good time, right wrongs, become admired, and if male also acquire a harem of sorts, although there are limits to how far things go for the duration of the books. It's fun and fluffy and something I'd like to write myself if I live long and prosper.There are various ways to subvert this, to turn some aspect of it upside down. Perhaps your admirers / harem are idiots (like in Konosuba). Maybe you are trapped as a game character you roleplayed who is evil, while you are not (Overlord, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord). Maybe your superpower is to respawn from a save point every time you die, and you die a lot (Re Zero). But there is one reason to be super powerful in another world that I absolutely dislike, and that is that you were actually super powerful in the normal world from which you came. This happens to be such a book, and because I did not read my reviews properly, I ended up buying it. It is actually pretty well written, it is just one thing that ruins the whole story for me. The main character is supposed to have been one of Earth's secret magicians who hide their abilities while undergoing rigorous training and competing with other secret magicians, right here on Earth. So why not write about that instead? I mean, this is kind of like reading about Bill Gates going to another world and becoming a billionaire, because - surprise - he got to take all his money with him. And then saying: "The economy in this world is too far behind." Not my cup of tea, but your teacup may vary.

I bought this light novel on a whim to give it a chance, and it was simply not too bad. I like the concept, and I like that the protagonist is not a hero. He is simply a guy stuck in a situation beyond his control. It was said well in the Afterwards, but I like that this author took the idea of a hero being summoned into another world, and made the friend who was accidentally dragged along the stronger of the two. The magic system is pretty complex, so prepare for that headache, even though I quite liked it; I like when people go into that kind of detail about magic so as not to make it ambiguous. I only give this 4/5 instead of 5/5 because my god, does the author drag on... and on... and on... in many of these scenes. There is often a wall of text with a lot of unnecessary description used to "build tension" but only really serves to waste time instead of getting to the point. It reminded me of watching a ten second countdown timer that took up 30 minutes of the entire film, and then just before the end, oh wait, there's more time... All in all though, not bad.

Everyone is saying that it’s bad but the only thing I’ve had problems with is the slow start and the fact that the hero has multiple girls fawning over him in front of the protagonists. Kinda makes you think why is the protagonist even there but after around half way thought the book is great 👍🏽

I would like to take this time to thank the translator and J Novel Club for bringing this to us!

As primeiras páginas do livro te prendem e fazem você querer comprar. Mas o personagem depois fica sem carisma nenhum. A garota que suspeita dele termina, óbvio, entrando para time de adoradores dele. Já era de se esperar isto, mas como ele não tem muito carisma, não consigo assimilar isso ocorrendo sem ser forçado. O TÍTULO já chama atenção de que personagem vai ser overpower, mas porque não consegui gostar dele, acabou sendo história que queria só fechar. Usei para ler anter de dormir no fim...

A very interesting story with some funny moments looking forward to volume 2

An isekai series with a twist. The powerful protaganist of this series, is not the summoned hero but the hero's friend. I loved the anti hero vibe of the character. I enjoyed this series so much, I raced through all 8 volumes which have been released and am now impatiently waiting for Volume 9.
